Twice this week on the interstate highway, I've been behind some fast motorcycle that I don't know what kind it is, but each has the fattest rear tire I've ever seen, at least twice as wide as big SUV tires. What was I looking at? Is there a name or style of this tire, and what kind of bike was it probably? One seemed to have a (short) chopper style front end, and on neither was the rider leaning forward. I couldn't catch up to either.

I saw another one, one I was able to overtake, today. Humongous fat rear tire, short choppered front end, stretched out teardrop gas tank, super skinny, small front tire. Is this just a pattern, or is it just individual choice on the tires?
PS, I saw Freaky Friday, the teen movie, today, and it has a youngster riding on a Bike whose name I now recognize, Ducati, and there's even a line in the movie where the old woman (Jamie Lee Curtis) who is inhabited by her 15 yr old daughter (Lindsey Lohan) corrects someone who calls the bike a HD!
But just wait til you see my Bike! I got the picture on my cell phone, just gotta email it to myself, crop it, host it, and paste it!

There has been a big craze in the past year or so with custom-built bikes. They usually put a chopper-like front fork on them and yes, the super fat rear tire. There is a TV show (forget the name) on Discovery, I think, that is about a father/son duo whose business is building these custom bikes. Orange County Choppers is another big-name custom builder. I'm sure you've seen the "OCC" shirts around.
The bikes they build are pretty interesting, with some being built based on certain themes. Nearly the entire bike is fabricated from scratch.
I'm not much into choppers and cruisers, so I'm not into it as so many others appear to be.

the show is AMERICAN CHOPPER . the owners are Paul Teutul SR. and Paul Jr. also his son Mikey . those scooters are sick. they are alot better than the bikes Jesse James makes @ WEST COAST CHOPPERS.but it's all in what u like .some people like crotch rockets & that's cool i prefer dressers.choppers & bikes like triumph & moto guzzi . but no matter what the style 2 wheels are better than 4.
