I just thought I'd share my annoyance with you (because I know you want me to!)
I went out with the simple plan to buy a new motorcycle battery. I went to Wal-Mart first because I figured that if they had it, it'd be cheaper than a motorcycle shop.
It was more expensive than expected ($65), but I needed it. While ringing it up, I casually said to the cashier that these should be CHEAPER than car batteries because they're smaller. She said, "yeah, and the car batteries even come ready to go!".
Me = ???????
So she opened the box and showed me that it was actually a kit to make your own battery! You pour in the stuff and seal it up and then you still have a dead, useless batttery. GRRRRR! I said I need a battery that actually works. Aparently, after assembling your battery, you're supposed to buy a battery charger and charge it. I don't need a charger, it charges on the bike while I'm riding (which has to be started first, by the stupid dead battery they wanted to sell me).
So I left and drove to a motorcycle shop that was nowhere close, and closed. GRRRRRRR! So I drive to the next closest place, and they only carry the same type as Wal-Mart, except that they want $10 more, and were out of stock. GRRRRRRRRRRRR!
So I go home and dig out the phone book and find a Batteries Plus store that's supposed to have everything even remotely battery-like. I go on their website and look up the battery I need. WhooHoo! A fully assembled, fully charged battery identical to Honda stock. AND its cheaper ! ($49.99) So I grab the phone and..... they closed 30 minutes ago, and won't be open again until Monday. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
No riding for me this beautiful weekend.

i've never had 2 use a charger 2 charge a battery 4 any of my cycles .just fill the battery 2 the upper level line put the caps in & in a few minutes it starts. they come that was cause they sit longer than car batts. worst case jump start it with a car .both r 12 volt & the alt will charge it. did that when it was dead from sitting in the winter if i didn't get a chance 2 ride it during the winter. mine was $40 @ the mart . cheapest i could find. some r just that way.

What, your squirrels died? Didn't feed them enough nuts? Or did you just leave them out in the cold during the winter? Tsk, tsk, tsk, gonna have to call PETA on you!

as far as i know you can,not by a fully charged m/c battery in the uk.i have just had the same prob!the honda ones come with a sulfuric-acid pack.£50..sterling..you can start your bike after about 30mins on charge.(they tell you 3hrs.)then the bike takes over to fully charge it.DO NOT CHARGE WITH A CAR-CHARGER.if you do invest in a bike charger £50.sterling!(again)you can leave the battery on bike and charge it through winter months,it puts in a gentle trickle charge.(and is quite safe to do so) safe riding.pop.x

I don't need a charger, it charges on the bike while I'm riding (which has to be started first, by the stupid dead battery they wanted to sell me). LOL...Thats Wal-Mart for ya. I went there the other day for an oil change (stupid idea in the first place). I think it was a Sunday, and it was the only day I had to get this done. So, I drop my car off at 10a.m. and told them I'll pick it up later that day. My wife and I ran some errands and came back at 3p.m. I go up to the counter and said I'm here to pick up my car. The guy looks through the stack of receipts and pulls mine out. "CANCELLED," it said right across the middle. Before the guy even spoke, I was like "&$# " and "$#@!!" because I knew I was going to get some idiotic/irrelavant excuse as to why the oil was never changed and yet, I never received a phone call! The guy said, "Your hood latch won't open." OK,....so I could see where that would be a problem lol. I was a little embarrassed for flippin' out like I did, so I went out to my car. I pulled the lever and the hood opened on the first try! So, I go back in, the manager comes out, I show him that the hood opens. I shut the hood and let him try. He pulls the lever like a Sally, and of course the hood didn't open. So, then I get in and pull it once, and POP my hood is open. Well, he tells me that since it was hard for him to pull, that its a liabilty issue and Wal-mart won't work on it. He goes on to say how I could sue them if the lever broke while it was in their shop. It was so unbelievable- I was like, "Here, let me open the hood right before you pull it into the shop (I won't tell anybody!)." Of course, that didn't fly with this guy....so I was SOL. I should have learned from the first time I tried to get an oil change at Wal-Mart. I had a truck that had aftermarket suspension on it, and one of the shock mounts had broken. (not a big deal, its about a $6 part and the truck is still drivable) Well, same thing happened...because of the broken shock mount, they were unable to give me an oil change. What does a shock mount have to do with an oil change? Why does Wal-Mart have an automotive service? "GRRRRR!"

did you know that they have little signs that say if they drop it off of the hoist it is not their fault? Go figure...at least up here that is the policy.
