Well I guess I finally made it into the 21st century. OMG what I have been missing. I am sure that you all or most know the advantages of a laser mouse. I cannot believe the difference in responsiveness from an optical to this. OK this Mouse has a great feel, semi ergonomic with a solid wheel feel. What truly sold me was the size of the receiver, gone are the days of a full thumb drive sticking out of your laptop. This is a notebook mouse so it may not be as large as some of you would like. However it makes up for the small stature in other ways. It is very solid, compared to some Microsoft mouses in the same price range. The rubber grips on the side are a nice addition. Also the receiver is stored in the belly where the batteries are. It has an on/off button to help save on battery life. Other features are a carry bag to help protect it from other items in your notebook case. And a nice desktop adapter so you don't have to give up your easy access usb ports. www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mice_pointers/mice/devices/3271&cl=us,en?WT.ac=ps|3620 oops I don't know why thw last part does not say as part of the link. Oh here is where I got it. www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104080&Tpk=logitech%2bvx%2bnano

It can be left in the laptop without much risk of damage.

exactly... that is what I hated most about notebook mice... this one seems to have that resolved.

I would venture to say from past discussions that you may have an issue with its size. Only a speculation. But anything is better than those dang touch pads.
I was able to check it out at office max prior to ordering it from newegg. they wouldnt price match plus there was a $15 rebate.

I actually love touchpads, but not for gaming. I am sure that the mouse would be too small for my hand, but the transmitter size is really amazing.

I also like the touch/tap pads on the laptops, for surfing the web, website building, every day use stuff. My New laptop came pre-programed with gestures for more complex tasks..... I also agree that it is no good for gaming.
