The problem with console game is that you can't mod them. You have to actually play the game that the creators want you to. What's the point of playing something you can't mod? Seems like it would get boring quickly. I don't think the MOH series of games would have remained popular for as long as it has without people modding it.

So this new MoH game IS coming to PC, right? Unless I misread it, all I saw mentioned in the article was a console version.
I'm ready for an MoH update...I just don't know if it will take off like Allied Assault has. Everything since Spearhead has flopped. I want to see iron sight aiming (ala Call of Duty) and more realism in weapons. I know some realism actually detracts from game play...but I want my cake and be able to eat it to! Is that so wrong?
My complaint with console games is the controllers. Nothing gives you control like a mouse and keyboard. The consoles now have multiplayer ability, which is a huge advance, but you have to pay for it. Sorry, not willing to do that. I'm a cheap SOB.

So I am not alone in not having an xbox then?? Whew! Well, no, Woody, it's a dedicated game thing, that is, a TOY, and grown men don't play with toys!!! In fact we don't play games at all. I don't know about you, but I'm always "working" on my computer, at least, that's what I tell my wife when she's not here to see. The last console machine (that's what they call gameboys, sega, sonyplaystation, xbox, right?) I had was the Sears Best version of the upscale Atari box, with all the classic games on it; bought it and wore it out in 1983. My favorite was Wizard of Wor, " the game that has gone down in history for being the first to reward treachery." Boy, did my wife (my usual co-player/opponent) get mad at me for that one. See this link if you've never heard of it: www.gamespy.com/articles/491/491289p1.htmlHey, now that I think about it, that game with its backstabbing among "friends" reminds me of another server I frequently visit........(LOL). Anyway, I'll be buying COD2 when it comes out (June, supposedly) for the Mac, and probably Q4 (out now) for my chil-ren, who love a good bezerkerfest, but no consoles for me or my family!

I have been told upside to xbox now is that it can be used also as an entertainment centre...dvd's cd's etc...at least that is how it was explained to me by a guy that I work with that loves his... The thing that irritates me about computers is the "gremlins" that can occur for no apparent reason...sort of like having someone lined up for a sniper shot and out of nowhere some other rude person steals your kill

My daughter's iMac at college became her all-in-one entertainment center, with DVD's and CD's and internet radio and email and iChat all in one. She was blocked from on-line games, but next fall her college is opening up 5 game ports (CSS, Halo, WOW, and 2 others; no MOH, though). Oh yeah, and she also did papers and reports and studying with it!
