Wow... u got a small reserve of Ram there... don't get Vista on that computer. It will run slower than a dead guy in a wheel chair. If you make a donation to LP, just make it $19 instead of 20, and clearly state why its an odd number

Well, was wrong about the SP1. You must have Windows Update set to automatic.
You are the first person I've ever seen to have their memory add up to 448 megs. The only way I can get the math to work is 256+128+64. I think 64meg chips might be worth something to a museum specializing in ancient technologies.

Ancient, hee hee hee. Ancient.
Don't sweat it, Rookie. In 6 months, Lamron's hot new pc will be a generation behind and he'll be looking to "upgrade" it component by component, and if he doesn't, in 1.5 years it will be elderly and in 2 years it will be ancient, too.
If you can run MOH well and do all the other things you want, then your pc is fine as it is. If you want to run the newest games and newer/newest OS's, then you'll have to do something else.
And to PresyWan, the Mac OS is very good with memory usage--Windows has always needed about 2x what the Mac needs.
And one stable thing about the Mac OS, when it makes minor and major upgrades, the memory and processor requirements do not change to any significant degree from the immediate previous ones; however, the second major upgrade usually leaves the old stuff in the dust.
Currently, the Mac OS does favor the newer processors (Intel), with a warning that the old processor (G5 ppc, 4+ years old, and G3 and G4 not even in the picture) will soon not be supported with newer 3rd party software and that the OS won't run the old-old software at all (for OS 9 applications, 10+ years old now) and will run the old software (for OS 10.1-10.4 and G3-G5 ppc) slowly, by emulation. Of course, as with Windows, you don't have to switch to a newer OS, you can stay with the old one for as long as it suits your needs, but be sure to keep backups of all your programs, system files, and documents in case you have to redo your hard disk, as those may not available readily or at all from the makers of the apps and OS.

You are the first person I've ever seen to have their memory add up to 448 megs. I have a 512 card thingy I don't know why it says 448? I have tried to upgrade. Bought a 1GB RAM for the computer, remember when you all made fun of me for that, anyways. I have the 1GB and it won't work. I was hoping I could use the 512 and the 1GB, what ever that equals? I know 513 isn't right . Nobody said anything about how good my screen shot looks. I probably took me 15 min. to do that.

That is a lot better than before, is it not? Soon you will be able to do that stuff in your sleep... Or have you been having those nightmares already?

I'm sorry, Rookie, on my work pc I couldn't see you screen shot (blocked by AdSense), but I got the gist of it in your words, so I didn't think to look it up at home on my Mac.
As to screenshots on Windows, I don't know how to do it either. Oh, my keyboard has a key labeled "PrtScrn" and someone said that with Shift and that key, it will take a screenshot and save it somewhere on my pc, but I have never ever found any screenshots or files like that after I've tried it, so I gave up. On my Macs, since a gazillion years ago, Shift + Control (Command, on the Mac) + 3 takes a screen shot almost anytime or any window, and Shift + Control + 4 gives you a crosshair that you drag to create a box the size you want, then you click, and then the screenshot is only what's within that box. Without these two OS commands, I'd never be able to do it on my Mac, either (sometimes I can't find the screenshots that MOH takes with, what is it, f7?, from within the game).
So, you see, you're already one big step ahead of me!!! Nice going!

I use a screenshot program for its extra features, but the Windows funtion work fine too. Its just not obvious how. When you hit PrtScr, the picture goes into your CLIPBOARD, not a file. You need to open a graphics program like Paint and select "Paste". Then you can save it wherever you want.

Ahhhhh, I see! Thanks, Lamron. Uhm, is Paint a freebie or a part of MS Office, that I should expect it to be on my hard disk already?

Paint comes with all versions of xp and vista for free. It is a very basic program, similar to comparing wordpad to ms word.
