Anyone update to the new FF3 yet? I'm using setting it up now. Seems to work very fast and smoothly. Not all of the old extensions are compatable, but that will probably be fixed soon.
I am slightly disappointed that FF still doesn't display HTML the same as IE. I still have to use the IE Tabs extention to show some pages correctly.

I just D/Loaded and installed it . It's definitely quicker, and seems smoother.
My theme doesn't work in this one , but the default theme has a cleaner look to it. So that's no problem .
As far as displaying HTML the same as IE ,You would think that would be fixed by now , but so used to it, I don't really think about it .
What do you think the reason might be ? Corporate, Copyright, etc, Something like that ? Or just design ?

Is it past the beta phase yet? I tried it when it was in beta, but almost all of my extensions weren't compatible so I uninstalled it very quickly. If the extensions still don't work I'll just wait awhile until most of them do, I'm still fine with v2.

I still prefer Netscape but seeing as how they saw fit to stop development on Netscape, I am now using Flock and am very pleased with it.

I've checked out flock and just wasn't as impressed as firefox. I've also been using firefox for years now, and have grown very accustomed to my extensions and would hate to lose my functionality.

"extensions" Yet another pc concept I don't have to worry about. Safari runs just fine, so does the latest version of Firefox for mac (2.0.0.14). without my having to tinker under the hood. Flock works fine, too, but no need for it with Safari and Firefox available.

Extensions isn't a pc thing, its a firefox thing. If you go to their website, there is a link for add-ons and they have thousands of extensions that can do just about anything you want. There is no tinkering involved, just click install extension and you're done. I'm surprised you don't know about that, that is the best thing about firefox in my opinion. The ability to fully customize it to your liking without any knowledge of any programming languages.

I prefer it to IE7. I get very few page errors and it is fast and smooth. You can also add most all the Fire Fox extentions to flock, as it is Fire Fox that puts out the Flock browser.

Being able to customize Firefox is its best feature. I use these extentions: Adblock Plus Classic Compact Options (combines the menu bar into one button) Download Status Bar Greasemonkey IE Tab PlainOldFavorites 1.0.1 (lets you use IE favorites in FF) Undo Closed Tabs I cleared out all the extra stuff that didn't need to be there in the top bars so it would take up minimum vertical space and the URL and search boxes could be bigger. And I'm using IE favorites instead of the FF bookmark system. Using the "userChrome.css" I removed the useless menus: Edit, History, Bookmarks, and Help.

That's all just gobbledygook to me--I don't know what most of those things are/do and I certainly am not missing them now, and it certainly is tinkering around, having to download and install some add-ins and set all their parameters and take others out and make sure the different ones don't conflict with each other, and I don't have time to learn more new stuff right now--Firefox 2.0.0.14 for pc works just fine for me as it is right now "off the shelf" (straight from the download). I once tried some Google add-ins to FF, and it was a mess and really slowed things up; maybe that wouldn't be as bad with this newer, faster PC, but I was never happier when I trashed my old FF and downloaded a new one without that stupid Google stuff added in. PS, when I check for pc updates to FF, it says 2.0.0.14 is the current version, so is this FF3 beta or vista only or what? I'll keep my eye on this thread, in case it looks like there is something here worth putting time and effort into. Thanks for the heads-up and explanations, guys.

I was watching G4 or whatever tech show thingy the stupid Japanese Game shows are on (those are hilarious). And they did a bid thing on the FF3 thing and when they were showing all of the clips of the Mozilla HQ people. Almost all of them had MAC's. Maybe Red is on to something...Naaaaaa just a coincidence. I have never had a problem with IE, am I missing something here? I'm not one to tweak software either. I'll build my own puter...but as for software I just download and go.

Regarding MAC browsers....
Microsoft pulled support for Internet Explorer for MACs about 4 years ago. Safari is fine.... I find FireFox for MAC lacking in features and have dumped it from the system. The Pvt.

I'm using FF 3.0.1 now for Mac, and it is a very attractive, very elegant, very fast interface. I still mainly use the Mac OS Safari, but FF is what I have to use to connect via Citrix with my work stuff and with some financial sites, so I am glad it is so nice. I don't use all the add-on's you guys talked about in the past--just don't need them.
