I have run into some computer problems here, pause for your laughter, We had to have the whole thing redone. A friend of ours worked on it and he said had he known what was wrong with it he would have told us to buy a new computer. It only took him a month to get it back to us. I am glad he did it for us tho. I now have to start over with EVERYTHING!!!!! It only took me 4 years to get all the crap just the way I wanted it. Our computer now doesn't have a "C" drive everything is in "J" and I think we need to move everything to "I". Hell I'm not even real sure at this point. So don't give up on me, I wish we would have got a new computer tho, one that could play COD4

I have run into some computer problems here, Our computer now doesn't have a "C" drive everything is in "J" and I think we need to move everything to "I". Hell I'm not even real sure at this point. Hey, I might can fix this one for you! First, buy a Mac, second..... OK, that would work, but, seriously try this first! With my new work PC, everytime I put in a new removable USB drive, it maps it to F, and that drive is in use with our network, and it thus keeps the PC from seeing both the important network F and the USB stick too, so I've had to learn how to CHANGE THE DRIVE MAPS AND LETTERS, and it's easy, and so I bet you can find and change your drive letters just as easily so that you get your hard disk (C) back and can also map any other drives you want and can assign any USB removable drives. Once you assign them, they will stay that way until you change them, so the C will stay and the USB's will have whatever drive letter you give them until you put in a new USB stick, and then you have to give that a unique not-in-use letter of its own. Anyway, do this: You might have to be in administrator mode first, I'm not sure. Left click on Start. That brings up the window with things you can navigate to by more clicks. Right click on My Computer. That brings up a window with options for My Computer. Left Click on Manage. Left Click on Removable Media (or wording very close to that--I'm not on my work PC or I could give you exactly the words, but it's the Removable Media or Storage Media). Anyway, when that comes up, you'll see two lists, one of the drives mounted (on the top) and one (at the bottom, with bigger individual entries for the drives) with the different drives and their letters and sizes and health status of the drives/disks. Find the one that's clearly your hard disk, because it's like 80 Gb or something, and left click on that. That brings up a menu, and on that you right click Change Drive Letter or Path (or some such words--see above note about my not being on a PC right now). Then use the pulldown menu that comes up now, to left click on "assign letter" or "change letter" or similar words, and give it a different, higher alphabet letter not already in use (A is usually the floppies, forget what B is, C is the hard disk, others are usually reserved for network stuff, such as F, G, H, etc., so I suggest you try L, M, etc.....P, Q, R....etc., or X or Y. I think Z is already spoken for with networks. Then you click ok or close or done, or whatever, and exit all the windows, then go to My Computer and now you should see the C drive or the USB disk you assigned or whatever. Repeat as many times as necessary until your drives and drive paths make sense. Good luck, and let us know if this works. Over and out, the Mac guy. Who doesn't have to do that, ever, with a Mac.

You cannot change the drive letter of the partition with the OS on it. So for any other partition, external HD or usb drive, that method would work, but to change the letter for the OS partition you need expensive software.

Thanks for the info, Pres. Oh, and the area to click on is "Disk Management": Computer Management (local) -Storage -Disk Management *Hee hee hee, I was lucky today! That could have given me the BSOD, in retrospect!

I particularly find Duck souls very tasty, especially if they are served in a nice orange sauce. LOL
