Apple is moving up the charts, toppling Acer to become the third largest PC vendor in the U.S., according to a survey from Gartner.
Apple defied a weakening economy to record a 38.1 percent growth rate in U.S. PC shipments, according to Gartner. Overall PC shipments in the U.S. grew just 4.2 percent to 16.5 million units during the quarter.

LOL and they are proud of passng ACER?
Acer is/was the crappiest cheapest pieces of crap PC out there. The reason their sales were so high is because they were so cheap.
and
LOL at the Gartner survey calling a Apple a PC. That should ruffle a few feathers.
I would agree it would be nice if they put the games out for you Mac'ers so you could join our fun.

But DS, people keep saying one of the major reasons pc's are "better" than macs is because they're.....cheaper! So when Apple surpasses the cheepsters, surely it means something !?!?!?
And let you forget, silly boy, Apple invented the personal computer (pc). How that name ever got hijacked to imply only windows boxes is a Bill Gates marketing success!

I am aware that PC stands for personal computer mac or windows OS.
Even in your arguments you call a windows box a PC and a apple a Mac. Even in the Mac VS. PC commercials they say "Hi I'm a Mac." and "Hi I'm a PC". So hence the comical remark about them calling a Mac a PC.
That Mac passed the cheepsters in my evaluation means that more people of average income that can afford the Acer are tightening their belts with prices of basic needs going up. While the higher income earners are less effected and can still afford the Mac. Just my outlook on it though.
