I have a package coming by UPS, but I suspect they may be confused about where its going. Does this seem like the most efficient route to Indianapolis, IN ?

LOL... maybe they decided half way through that it would be faster to go the other way around. Or.... the package was due to arrive too early, so they had to delay the delivery.

But it was almost here! LOL Its like a squirrel that runs 90% of the way across the street, then chickens out and runs back to where it started.

I had a package go from Columbia, SC. (less than 70 miles from me) to Atl. GA. (Over 150 miles or so from me) then back to me. How in the hell is UPS making any money.

FedEx likes to take the scenic route too. From Michigan to Indianapolis, via OH and KY.

LF good recommendations for GPS system CHEAP!!!! Requirements obviously are: - Very close coord
- Altimeter
- in car/and walking power
- Can you tell the differeance between 1 ft off the ground and 2?
- and this is a question....how good are these things....accurate...see last question?
- Is GPS a subscription? or does it just work for whatever reason by sat?
Do any of you guys have one? and I'm not sure actually what to ask...lol thats why I'm asking....Was considering help in expanding the geo cache game ...up in these here parts....lol

Mine is a factory Dodge GPS made by Alpine. It does all of the things you mention EXCEPT it is not removable from the vehicle to use while walking/hiking. There is no subscription fee for mine, it uses a map DVD for the US and Canada. Question, what does this have to do with this thread? I am missing the point?

If I have gathered my information correctly, Major doesn't like to start a new thread, so he finds the closest thing to the topic he wishes to discuss. Correct me if I am wrong.
Before mine got stolen, BASTIDS, it worked amazing. The only subscription I had to pay was for the traffic receiver which is optional. By law, gps's cannot be as accurate as military gps's, so they are always a few meters off. But I don't see a reason you would need to measure your location any more than that. It theoretically will calculate any movement, whether a foot or a mile, lateral or horizontal. But keep in mind the margin of error all gps's will have except for military quality. Which cannot be purchased by a civilian.
My favorite feature of all was the auto-recalculate. If you made a wrong turn, it would recalculate your route within a second or two, so you will never get lost. Where I live there is construction EVERYWHERE. There are detours around the detours, so this function got me where I needed to go a lot quicker and easier than getting places now, since those BASTIDS stole it.

By law, gps's cannot be as accurate as military gps's, so they are always a few meters off. . This is no longer true. The satellites don't send inaccurate information anymore, so there's no need for special equipment to adjust for those errors. www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/09/20070918-2.html
