I saw a little campaign yard sign in town today for a guy who thinks that he has what it takes to "Be a Leader"

I don't want a leader or leaders, I want representatives looking out for my best interests.

Is that what politics has become? Ruling us rather than doing what we hire them to do for us?

Yep that was my point in the letter I wrote to my representatives. I expect them to represent my /our intrests. And if they refuse to then I will gladly vote them out of office.

You have captured the essence of the problem today. THe current crop of legislators & MSM are always touting the "messianic" qualities of candidates from local aldermen to the Pres.
They are so full of their own "visions" and "destinies" that they ALL fail to do what they have been elected to do: REPRESENT THE WISHES OF THE PEOPLE.

Example: 75% of the voters want to use the oil in the ground that WE HAVE HERE.
Will they vote 75% to drill....no. We'll get some watered down, PC, crap.
Example: 75% of the voters wanted to build the fence & deport illegals. What did we get?
about 10 miles of fencing for the photo ops, no new enforcement that did
anything effective.

One by one the Dems (Pelosi, Reid, Durbin, etc) drfit towards the looney left, many of the Repubs follow them, when all the time the population tells them what to do based on common sense. They only quote polling numbers when it suits them. On the big issues it's usually the old 75/25 rule where the people know best; but, the beltway bandits just continue to play silly games that mean nothing When it comes time to do the right thing.

At election time I wish the 75%'ers would just throw out ALL OF THEM! VOTE OUT ALL INCUMBANTS who continue to ignore their constituents.

That is what I plan to do pvt. Vote out the ones I can that ignore the wishes of the people they are supposed to represent.

But how do we vote out the bad ones? The only choices we have are our worthless guy, or the enemy. The problem is that we don't get to vote for the leaders of our party, we only get to choose between parties.

Very true Lam.

However a vote just to keep a party in a seat does me no good if they are voting Lib, or against the will of the people anyway. How else are we going to do this? I am stuck between that rock and hard place.

We may have to bite the bullet and put in some people that we do not like, then vote them out the next time around, praying they do not screw us over too bad. I do not know the answer. I wish I did. We need some reform badly. It turns my stomach just thinking and typing that paragraph.

I know the petition I posted is like pissing in the wind but, maybe, just maybe if enough people sign it they will fear for their jobs and power positions enough to give in and vote the way we wish. Our voices speak louder in election years.

If we temporarily give power to the other side to teach our guys a lesson, I'm afraid they'll be too stupid to understand what happened. They'll just think, "oh, the liberals won. We'll just have to be MORE liberal to win next time."

I have to add a little thought here and question statment... which may or may not help...probly sound stupid to most people but, since the country was based on farmers, farmers knowing what to spend vs buy, a farmer can tell you pretty much what will happen if one part of the economy takes a dive into the crapper, what will happen in other places.....Point being why are people so intent on having lots of money to run for presidency? If you look at it from a history point of view, every thing's went from having street smarts, to having a high paid adviser comity O.o .....

As things get deeper and deeper into people bitching about this, and this is how we want it or we won't give you donation funding/whatever.

Our country went from self sustaining to world sustaining in a matter of years...and thats like an instant change to the economy through trickle down effects. Same example....What happens in California, eventually reaches the eastern states in some form.

Through massive tension from the lock washer pressing against both sides...."WE THE PEOPLE!!!", we are able to slowly adjust to all the new restrictions that slowly come out and somehow have the effect of raising the minimum wage, gas prices, property taxes for that which we already own!!!!!!!!, not drilling and or replacing drilling stations, allowing foreign slant drilling!!!!!!! ALL A LOAD OF CRAP FOR POLITICLE REASONS!!!!....notice talks of the draft coming back and all the sudden talks of jails and prison expansion stops!!! Know one wants to state the obvious, but someone has to!

Yes yes, at some point the alternative fuel thats affordable will be here but, at what cost? 15 years of people converting? Government and thier followers seem to think....ASSume, everyone has the finances to instrantly change thier habits....OK, IF you haven't thought out your future finances like everyone in peferfect land apperantly does...wtf?

I'm all for instituting a renomination....and look for cheaper SMARTER candidates!!!!!....you know....call a do over!!!! Is their any law that says you can"t?? Whoever comes up with the vote for other on the ballet, and it's no one...I guess they'd have to wouldn't they?! We just need to make sure niether/no one/other is on the ballet!!!!!!!!

I could probly bottomline it a little better if I knew what the president makes a year, but let me say this....Yes I'd like to be rich, but I don't want to be a rich asshole and screw everyone else to be rich as compared to what is right!!!!! this would bring the economy down..OHOHHHHHPP
