Wasn't it Mark Twain who said something to the effect that it's better to remain silent and look like a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt??? So, I'm thinking I'll be keeping my good looks solely and squarely in the imagination of all you gentle readers.
Nice picture mako!

Actually, that was Abe Lincoln, and he was quoting the Bible when he said it. Maybe this should be moved to another forum area, not Members' Pics??? Well, the one I was thinking of was from Twain, although I don't know which work it's from: en.thinkexist.com/quotation/it_is_better_to_keep_your_mouth_shut_and_appear/8092.htmland I don't believe the quote is biblical, although there is one similar in reverse, perhaps: jmm.aaa.net.au/articles/13312.htmand wikipedia lists several similar quotes in its article about Twain: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Twain "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt." (cf. Proverbs 12:23, 13:16, 17:18, 29:11, and others) It's sort of like the couple people think are biblical, but are NOT ("Spare the rod and spoil the child," and "the Lord helps those who help themselves"). Apparently, it is not clear who first used this line or a version of it. See this page for a discussion. ask.yahoo.com/20010115.html(some of the links in that last page are busted, but the one about Silvan Engel says Lincoln was quoting Engel). Interestingly enough, the old medical dictum of First Do No Harm (Primum non nocere) has the same problem, it's not really in the Hippocratic Oath and no one is sure who first said it. If you're interested, I can refer you to a good review on that.

LOL That is Walton Pier, a bit run down but still walkable if you don't mind the gaps. Although our beach is very clean and has a european cleaness award (yeah I know, big deal) Ok add more pics about me and my home, good idea to see were and how other people from other places live.
