Wednesday, July 23, 2008 near the Jackson , Tenn. airport.

Driver was attempting to throw a logging cable over the logs to secure them, but hooked onto the overhead 7,200v line instead.

He reports the tires began to fry in seconds. Very lucky he didn't fry himself!!

It wouldn't have been a direct short. The truck components (especially the tires) would have a decent amount of resistance.

who ever was in charge that day should've phoned the hydro (electric) company and told them to shut the power down. if the company was monitoring the electrical lines they should have seen a measerable out put.
