Never ask what kind of computer a person uses--if it's a Mac, he'll say; if not, why embarrass him?

The irony or lack of consistent logic there, about "rights" and "given" vs. "want," that is lost on the left. The "right" to health care, affordable housing, education, etc. etc. that the left wants is really that they want "free" health care, free housing, free everything (or at least paid by "the wealthy"). For most liberal arguments/agendas, if you substitute a liberal word/idea/goal with a conservative one, that really stands out. For example, right to abortion--if you outlaw it, people will still get them but they'll be unsafe and they'll be criminals; the left agrees whole-heartedly. But now say "gun" instead of abortion, and the same arguments are now met with absolute opposition.

'tardy Cute. I'm glad for some action here on the website. I've been dry, myself, trying to think of or find something worthy to post.

Notice anything odd about this woman? I didn't. Hint: this is NOT a tranny thing. I'm not trying to trick you with a man pretending to be a woman. This is something else.

Here's another one to help you guess: Here's the answer if you can't figure it out. Its a little bit concerning.

Webpage is blocked by my organization, so I can't confirm easily now, but based on the eyes, I'd say it's a computer-generated high-end anime (drawing). Or some such words.

Its an Instagram page, so I'm not surprised that its blocked at work for you.
This is Aitana Lopez, an Instagram model with 262,000 followers and hundreds of replies to every post. You're correct, she isn't real. These are all AI generated images.
These are getting very, very good. Maybe you could pick out a tiny bit of oddness, but only because you were specifically looking for it. Without context, I would have been completely fooled and would have no reason to suspect this wasn't an actual woman. There are corporations making this type of social media "influencer" accounts on different platforms. Its great for them, because they don't have to pay an actual model, but even better they have complete control over what she says. She will shill any product they want, they can easily fake trips to places, and they avoid all kinds of normal expenses. And maybe more importantly, they never have to worry about her saying something stupid or offensive and damaging a brand. People who are "famous for being famous" usually don't last long because the narcissistic personality types that seek out that attention are weirdos who eventually say something unpopular.
Sports Illustrated has been making fake contributors and publishing AI generated articles:
We are on the upward slope of the uncanny valley. If you are looking for it, you can still pick out AI generated stuff. But Generative Adversarial Networks are making very fast improvements. By the end of this year the best ones will be indistinguishable from real people, even by experts. People who don't follow the technology may be dismissive of it, but there is a real danger here. Having a large army of bots all appearing to interact with each other and agree with each other, and share each other's posts, lets a small number of people appear to be hundreds of thousands or millions. That is enough to have real world influence on society and politics. The massive majority of everything you know about the world is not the result of your own in-person experience. You've only seen a tiny fraction of the world with your own eyes. Entire countries and major world events may not actually exist or have happened at all. You only believe they did because very large numbers of people all agree they did, not because you have actual experience of it. So far, this has worked reasonably well because it would be impossible to get everyone to agree to lie to you. But in the future, this metric may not be reliable when "everyone" agrees something happened and you see picture and video proof of it.
Strangely, this immediately causes an even bigger problem in society the opposite direction. In the near future, there will be widely publicized events reported by media who were either fooled by it, or done purposely for political reasons. We will then find out they never happened or were completely different. Suddenly, EVERYTHING is suspect. Nobody can believe any REAL pictures or videos. Imagine that in a courtroom. The defendant says not guilty, that's an AI faked video. Can everyone on the jury really say "beyond a reasonable doubt" that its impossible?
Here's a video of Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky ordering all troops to surrender. Its laughably bad quality, but its almost two years old. With current tech, on a cell-phone size screen, to people more concerned with staying alive than keeping up on the latest AI technology, this would absolutely fool them. Or at least cause serious doubt.

We need a simple and reliable test of "stuff" to know if it's AI or AI-generated. Easily said, right? Reminds me strongly of the Bladerunner scenes where the androids were being tested for body responses (pupils, etc.) to questions expected to evoke certain emotions and responses. Very eery we've come to this.

The problem is that is exactly how Generative Adversarial Networks work. A separate process is used to test if something is AI generated or not. Billions of tries later, the AI learns to beat the testing protocol. Any form of testing devised can and will be used to train the next generation. These GAN are specifically designed to improve to the level of testing. The better the testing, the better the AI gets. You can never beat it.

He contradicts himself at the end of the video when he suggests using AI to detect other Ai, after he explained at the beginning of the video why that won't work.
Technology can't save us. Its being used against us. New laws can't save us. Regulations requiring AI labels are useless. People seeking to do bad things just ignore the law. The world is rapidly destroying itself and nothing can stop it.
