I survived the surgery! The Dr. says everything went according to plan. I'm all bandaged up now and taking oxycodone apap for the pain. The thing that's bothering me most right now is my sore throat from the tube they stick in there and the dryness of breathing only through my mouth.
I came out of anethesia better than last time. They gave me some anti-nausea meds and now they have something that monitors your brain activity to see if you're really asleep. So they can use a little less without risking you waking up during surgery (shutters in horror).

That's great news Lam!
By the way, you may as well use up all your pain meds now and have some fun.
I had saved some codeine from my knee surgery a while ago, I went to use them when I twisted my back recently. They lost a lot of potency after sitting there that long. All they did was make me dizzier than normal.

Glad surgery went ok. How are you, though? How long will you be laid up? I'm off this Fri. and weekend and might have a chance to let you kill me in MOH ("let you"--Hah! as if!).
I'm having athroscopic surgery on my knee 9/18 for two meniscus tears, and I've asked for local anesthesia and relaxation meds by IV, to avoid the general anesthesia problems you mentioned (tube --> sore throat, dry mouth/throat, longer wake up time).

Glad it went well Lam. Hope your recovery is speedy.
Found out today I have too go in for another freakin EMG test.. I swear they could use it on terrorists too find out anything they want too know.. Water boarding has noting on it.
EMG= Electromylogram they run electric shocks through your nerve paths too test nerve conduction and response.

When we get national health care, and people are worried about weather or not they will "qualify" to receive life-saving surgeries, what about elective surgeries like the one I just had? Will those happen at all?

Feeling much better today. Last night the pain and drugs where kind of making me weird. Today, I went back to the Dr. and he removed the bandages and stitches from my ear. That was really bugging me, so having that gone makes things a lot more comfortable. He also removed some of the stitches from nose. I go in Tuesday to have the splints removed from the inside of my nose. It was feeling pretty good until I accidently bumped myself in the nose earlier and spent a few minutes crying like a little girl.

lol, I know how bad that smarts!
Are those splints the same as I had, football shaped teflon disk/ovals? If they are, you'll be amazed how big they actually are and they can fit stuff that big in there.
Was just curious bc with them shaped like that, they are wider than your nostril holes. With me it didn't hurt when he pulled the stitches from the inside of the nose, but kinda gave me a quick cold sweat and teary eyes when he pulled the splints out.
glad to hear it's getting better.

No, Lamron, under at least one of the "plans" O's people are pushing, citizens will simply NOT be allowed to go to a doctor of their choosing and pay for work on their own, as the doctors will be told who they can treat, when, and how much they'll be paid for it. It truly is not about delivery of health care, it is about control control control of the American people. Even under Hillary's attempted plan years ago, they were going to tell doctors in training what kind of speciality they could enter and where they could practice!!!

Not only will you have the problems of getting the health care you need under Otards plan, then you have to consider us health care professionals that will quit. I for one refuse too work for near minimum wage when I am dealing with the responsibilities of life and death. Not too mention the thousands of dollars I laid out too obtain my education.
So I imagine even if your approved there is going too be an even LONGGGGGGERRRR waiting time because there will be fewer doctors, nurses, techs, emt, etc.
