I've been running Peerblock for a few years now with some added custom lists. I just can't believe the amount of places that try to connect to your machine when you goto a site. Peerblock does for your machine what adblock does for FF more or less, just to fill peeps in. My question is why would Blooklyn College want to connect to my machine when I come to the forums here? and what is Bogon...it's everywhere?

Any more info on this?
Lamron?
Is the college maybe trying to use your machine for computing purposes, helping it with some research or number crunching a few millisecs at a time on many machines? Or is Brooklyn College some hacker's false name?
How do I get Peerblock?
Sincerely, Too Lazy to Google It in Florida

Its probably the ads at the top of the page trying to load pictures from their server.

I was wondering if it was the ads or not. This thing just shows all kinds of crap that just seems to want to connect to your machine. No matter where you go, it just flashes in the system tray telling you something is getting blocked. And if what's getting blocked is what you want to see, you can unblock for 15 minutes, an hr, or permanently, pretty neat.
You'd be amazed at how many colleges/schools this thing shows it's blocking among other not fer' sure things.
