The new version of the Homepage is on line now.
-New calender and clock.
-HUGE expansion of the conversion functions.
-ImageShack uploader completely rewritten. After uploading, a page will appear with samples of different ways to use the link data and previews of the thumbnail or full size image. I never was happy with the ImageShack provided pages, so I rewrote the whole thing to make it more useful.
-Improved RSS news feeds.
-New method of handing the tabs that will switch faster without reloading the page.
-It will remember your preferences for the starting tab and whether links open in new pages or not. (must have cookies enabled)
I have room for several more items on the LINKS tab, so if you have any suggestions, let me know. I also have room for two more tabs for future expansion.
I had to learn alot more about HTML and JavaScript to make this, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I wrote over 1000 new lines of code for it. ;D

It's certainly a different look, far more compact, and only one news tab column showing at any given time. I will have to get used to it to see what feedback I can give.

On the news tab entries, can you make it so it shows 4 or 5 lines of the story before it gives the 5 lines of links? The 2 lines is just not enough to let me know whether I want/need to read the full story.

OK, I don't like it. Basically, it has lost its news function for me, as it's too slow and inefficient. Before, I could quickly scan 4-5 story lead-in's in each category tab at the same time, and know enough about the stories to see if I wanted to read the whole story, and with simple scrollings, see 4-5 more stories in the individual tab. Now, I get one, maybe 2, truncated lines of info, and tons of links and a usually worthless picture, in only 2 stories without clicking a tab or doing lots of scrolling. So, basically, I find myself not even trying to use the website for news, where before, it was my first source of daily reading, before I went to the forums, before I went to my iWontv home page with news, before I went to drudge. Sorry, but I have to admit it, that's how it has worked out. Nothing wrong with change and trying to improve, but this change doesn't work for me. YMMV

The formatting of the news RRS is set by Google, so I don't have much control over that. However, I can make it switchable between Google and Fox News (what we had before), so you can select which one you prefer.
Which do you think would be better, three narrow columns (one for each category) shown together on one page, like it was before, OR separate tabs for each category?

I like the 3 narrow columns, lets me scan lots of stories quickly to see about followups. But I'll be glad to try the tabs first if you want. Thanks much.

Better now?
Both styles are available now, and you can still set your "Start Tab" to whichever you like.

I changed the Proxy link from Anonymouse to Secure Tunnel. The Anonymouse proxy didn't support secure website connections unless you paid for their premium service. The Secure Tunnel proxy does it for free.

Its usually used to circumvent some type of restriction. For example, if your employer blocks certain websites, running the connection through a proxy prevents the monitoring software from knowing what you are doing. The site you want to use is contained entirely inside the proxy website.
I used it recently to check on a GunBroker auction while at work. The GunBroker site was blocked, but the proxy got around it.
Another use would be if you want to prevent the website you are visiting from knowing who or where you are. Some websites restrict which countries can connect to them. Or you may be being personally blocked by the website for some reason, like a daily limit for using a service.

Hey, that works. It's a little slow loading the pages and links from within the pages, but it works. Before this, I couldn't go to syfy.com, for example, at work. Thanks, it's a nice option.

New tab added to the Homepage that will contain a server monitor and information. I made it the first (default) tab to make it obvious to any first time visitors that are sent there by messages on the game server. If you had it set to remember your preferred start tab, you need to reset it to what you want to show first.
