hey all....me and 2 friends want to do the route66 ride ....this year..i was wandering if any of you could help me with the ,...best time to come..harley hire(and where from)..cost...and any paticular routes we could take...also we would like 4 to 6 weeks....we do'nt paticulary want a guided tour..would be good to cruise it as we go.thank-you....x

Bikers could probably better give you riding/seasonal information than I could (a non-rider), although you definitely want to avoid the hot summer, I'd imagine (late July through mid September).
However, my buddy RAAF, a fellow Call of Duty player from Australia, came over last year and road coast to coast (Florida to upper midwest to California) with a harley he outright bought in Daytona Beach, FL and then shipped home from Los Angeles. He hopes to come back next year and repeat the trip. He can certainly relate his experiences and recommendations, if you'd like me to give you his email.
