Ever have YouTube make a recommendation for something seemingly completely unrelated to your viewing history, and it actually turns out to be interesting? Does YouTube's AI actually know me better than I know myself?

Does YouTube's AI actually know me better than I know myself? Were you signed in to google when this "recommendation" was made for you? Do you stay signed in to google (either on Youtube or gmail)? I can't say I've ever been offered a strange "just for you" video, but if I'm signed in and watch a video or search, the next time I go to the youtube home page, more and more of those videos pop up. So I always clear my cache and browsing history and then sign out of google/youtube and then clear my cache and browsing history again, and after that, I get more generic, less focused videos on the youtube home page. |

I stay logged into YouTube all the time. I subscribe to a bunch of channels, so they all show up first on the page.
