I had the opposite reaction to seeing that trailer! I think its pathetic that he's trying to wring a couple more dollars out of tired old character that was never any good to start with. I'm guessing that Sylvester Stallone ran out of money and got desperate. I hope it flops and Sly ends up living in a cardboard box somewhere.

Are you some kind of weird communist? Rocky Balboa is one of the Great American Pop Culture icons of the 1980's. I hope the movie is a blockbuster and Sly ends up on top one more time.
HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE ROCKY?!?!?

I'm guessing lam doesn't like Sly Stallone Sorry, I don't like people who are trying to get me killed. Sly is violently anti-gun and advocates, "The government needs to go door to door and take away everybody's guns". He's a second-rate actor who never bothered to learn English and hypocritically made alot of his money in movies shooting guns.

If this is true I agree with what you are saying. But for gods sake man it's Rocky Balboa, he makes you feel like you could take on the world, or in your case the government. ;D

I did enjoy all previous Rocky movies. They are silly, but very entertaining. This new one will likely be more of the same. As to him being out of money, fear not. His interest in the very successful Planet Hollywood restaurants is ensuring his wealth long after his death. As to his views on weapons, they are his and I respect his right to both hold and voice his views. They are not mine, but in this country we are fortunate that we CAN voice opinions that may seem crazy to others. And finally, he did what most of us would tell him to do... if you don't like it here move to another country... he did just that. So all in all I see no negative to his politics, his earnings, or his new movie. I do find the premise of the movie silly, but I expected no less.

If they wanted this movie to be a hit, Rocky should have made a switch to UFC....

I mean come on... am movie about a retired fighter returning to the ring to validate the findings of computer software? It needs to be called ROCKY vs. The PC. I will watch it when it gets to cable, or maybe not

Red, you aren't familiar with Ultimate Fighting Championship? The Octagon? Man, you are missing out. Knock your opponent out or get him to tap out...just about anything goes. In the early days there was a lot of mongoloid barfighting tactics. As the UFC has evolved and exploded in popularity, these fighters have become highly disciplined professionals. Some are submission experts, while others are power hitters. Everyone has to be pretty well versed in multiple disciplines, however. This stuff is real! Knee strikes, elbow strikes, punches with lightly padded gloves...blood frequently spills in the Octagon (the fenced-in ring).
The Spike channel airs a bunch of the fights. There's also a reality show called the Ultimate Fighter where up-and-comers compete for a shot at a UFC contract.
Catch a fight or two if you can and see why it is becoming so popular. It's riviting stuff!

yes MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) is the new generation of fighting. It has it all as Des said...from stand up fisting to down and out submission holds. A friend of mine here is a trainer in the lower ranks of MMA and has been all over the northern US and Southern Ontario & Quebec. He has put on some classes for an OHL team so some of their people can learn how to "defend" themselves better. It is funny listening to him talk about how these 18 year olds all of the sudden think they are tough..so as he says..I give them a lesson in respect..takes about 30 seconds for them to submit. As to Rocky...why didn't they just let it die. The last of Stallones movies seemed to be nothing more than a photo-op for a lack of talent actor who thinks he is bigger than he is. All I can think of for him is MAD Tv...the character Stewart...as he says"Look at me...Look what I can do"
