I wouldn't call myself a Stallone fan, regardless of his politics, but I enjoyed Rocky films up until about RockyIII. I won't go and see the new flick in the theatre but will see it on TV sometime. My favorite Stallone flick was First Blood (1st in what became silly Rambo movies.) It was filmed in Canada not far from where Daffy Duck lives.

Uhm, I think the cable tv stations interrupt my sci-fi shows with ads for upcoming cage fights or some such things, probably what you guys are talking about, but I've never watched, assuming it is no different than professional wrestling. And I never saw the movie, Fight Club, if that is the same. We have had at least one death nearby from a local fight club, though, so at least on the local level, maybe the fighting is real. Uhm, any women and mud involved in any of these? LOL.
Thanks much for explaining it, I'll check it out!

RE: Stallone. Everyone loves an underdog movie, and everyone loves to put young whippersnappers in their proper place (Kneel Before Zod!). But $8.50 to see this? Naw, but maybe when the DVD comes out for rental. And I wasn't aware of his politics. I prefer actors and performers to act/perform and not run their mouths about other things (reference: Dixie Twits, Michael Fox).

I . My favorite Stallone flick was First Blood (1st in what became silly Rambo movies.) there is usually a reference to Rambo in his movies.lol in TANGO and CASH at the beginning a CHP on top the tanker truck says "HE THINKS HE'S RAMBO "as the other cops laugh Stallone pushes the one standing in front of him aside and says "RAMBO IS A PUSSY" and shoots the front compartment of the tanker here the drugs are hidden .in Demolition man Wesley Snipes' criminal character Simon Phoenix awakens in 2032 goes to the museum's armory exhibit to get the only firearms available. throws a curator through the exibit glass and says to the soldier mannequin as he reaches for a duffel bag"EXCUSE ME RAMBO ..I NEED TOO BORROW THIS! so Stallone makes lite of the Rambo character too. it's a toss up between Rhinestone and Judge Dredd as his worst. hhhmmm.. Rhinestone is his worst.at least Judge Dredd has 1 Rob Zombie song SUPER CHARGER HEAVEN in it . here he is as Machinegun Joe in Deathrace 2000 made in 1975 he was what 18 years old LOL. it's hard to believe that the year 2000 was the future then. and 2032 isn't far away lol

OK, so sly is not the best actor, but I like the underdog character a lot and will undoubtedly see the dvd when it is available for rent. Plus, I hope to introduce my young skulls full of mush this Christmas to Rambo and Rocky first movies. By the way, the book upon which Rambo the movie was based is called First Blood and dealt with a viet nam vet coming home in the 60's to a non-welcoming, and it was enjoyable.

I heard a Stallone interview on the radio yesterday during which he plugged the new Rocky movie. He said there is also going to be a new Rambo movie, Pearl of the Cobra. You have GOT to be kidding me! He said it will be age accurate, so "you won't see Rambo hanging from a tree with a big knife...he'll be hanging from a bush with a big knife." What's his drama going to be this time around...having a Medicare claim denied?

Getting all kinky with the nurses....taking the dentures out and then "let gum what may"? Challenging Chuck Norris to an all-out competition.....on whose face lift looks better?
