Hi guys Gota bit of bad news, Tuesday last (13 Feb) I was rushed into hospital with a heart attack, hada have a anigram/stent thingy put in. So I may not be on for a while as I have to rest up and stay away from excitement (so can play if M is in LOL) for a while, I will pop in from time to time but must watch my stress levels. When I do something I always do it big sheesh.

Get well soon. Do all your rehab...not more, not less...just what they tell you...modern cardiology is lightyears ahead of where it was just 10 years ago. You can do it...then you can come back to LP for me to poop on...I mean club. Otto

Wow, Garp, you are WAY too young to be having a heart attack! Quit stressing out! (I'm typing this very slowly and calmly so you don't too excited.) Have you had heart problems before? I hope you heal up quickly and can get back to your normal routine soon.

Geez, Garp, that sucks! BUT, you made it through and are getting your pumper repaired, so you should be hot to trot again soon. Hang in there, bud, and follow the docs orders closely!

Thanks guys. The worst is over, its just now I'm home I got to stay indoors for the first week and rest up, can do stuff but gota watch what I do and stay unstressed. The second and third week I can go out for 5 to 10 min walks, you know after all the crap I'm looking forward to them LOL. the forth and fifth weeks more out and about and light exercise. week 6 assessment at docks and maybe return to work light duties, I won't be returning to my old job as that involved Lorrie driving and heavy lifting. have a look at old garps insides LOL And this is one of my eccg/eeg or whatever things (med terms never my thing) This came as a shock to me as I have no history of it nor do my family, it was put down to stress, long hours, poor diet (OK I'll give em that one) and high coles gota get that down OH and getting hit in the head with rifle butts LOL. (M I'll send my lawyers round later LOL) anyway they seem happy with me so that helps, All these pills are mind boggling though, I got one for blood, one for coles, one that is I got a beta blocker and another pink one? Oh well must be doing me some good. Still feeling a little weak and tied but they said that would happen. but the thing that made me really piss myself laughing (got told off for that to) was when the doc was telling me what to do and what stress to avoid...... "Now" he ses "you must avoid stressful love making" boy I went into a laughing fit because he said it so straight faced, but I thought with some of these pills acting like a reverse Viagra that may not be a problem LOL. I will come in as I'm bloody board already, 5 days in a hospital bed is enough to send ya loopy, that is not saying that it was not nice, the nurses where fantastic (Oi shoots not in that way) and the care was brill, anyone that knocks the NHS will deal with my puny wrath LOL.

Hey Garp, sorry to hear about that. Them there deals are a scary thing. Make sure that you do take all of those meds...as prescribed. My Father has been battling with the same thing for years so I know. Medicine and treatment has come quite far as Otto has mentioned earlier so there are better treatments and medicines becoming more available every day.
If there is one bit of advice that I hope that you really take note of, here it is this: "Time, is muscle". Meaning, the faster a person can get a treatment started, the less heart-muscle is lost. If you feel anything, and I mean ANYTHING, that is not quite right, get to your doctor as fast as possible. My Father is down to 10% of his heart-muscle left, trust me, it is not where anyone wants to be.
Take care of yourself Garp, for all of us.

hmmmm, i've had several EKG's that one looks familiar, when getting the EKG's the nurses taught me how to read them. your down lines are not good in this one. they should be all up lines, also the spaces in between the spikes slant downward indicating heart problem. the last one i had (bout 6months ago) read i was in the middle of a massive heart attack. the doctors and icu trauma nusre couldn't believe i wasn't in pain or had any outward signs of having a massive heart attack. i kept telling them they were wrong. my wife came in to see me and brought a cup of tim horton's (coffee). i was in the unit for 7.5 hours even had dinner. but the doctors insisted i was in grave danger. had all sorts of blood tests, iv's in me including one in my neck. the situation was perplexing to them, even my blood test showed no enzymes. finally they got my internest to come see me and he just flipped out on the doctors. i have a metal aorta heart vavle, it doesn't read on the EKG's. (i had serious heart problem back in 1997) he showed the doctors the blue binder with my name in it, the doctors slowly one by one left the unit, simon ming (internest) said this cost about 20,000 dollars in health care just to find out i had bronchitis.anywy that was the last yearly test i wonder what the next one will be like. so garp i know what it's like, through all this i learnt several things, you have no control over your life and death it can happen to anyone anytime. don't sweat the small stuff or big, enjoy your family as much as you can, learn to forgive, and enjoy what you got and your time. see you all on the field and i do enjoy my lamonian friends. xxxooo the duck.

Upate: Feeling better, well was LOL now I got a bloomin cold LOL oh well can't moan about that one can I. still get tired quicker but in general feeling more like myself (soon be feeling the wife I hope, huba huba) Popped in for a couple of games and found to my delight I could still kick ass, but the thing that is most pleasing is that I have no pains or twinges and I breath easy so all seems well. The London Marathons in April so I'll test myself and give it a go LOL only joking.

Glad to hear you are doing better Garp. How is MOH stressful? I play it to relieve stress! Perhaps your Doctor is secretly a visitor to LP and is tired of you kicking his ass and wanted you gone...
