I get this feeling that some or all of you are in military in some way or another. I myself am not. I just want to say that I don't agree with any of you being overseas,( American or Canadian or wherever you may be from). Just take care of yourselves and return safely.

that is what makes it great nutman.. you dont have to agree. and them fighting for us keeps giving you that right .. food for thought though .. if we were not over there how many more 911's would we have had and will have if they get pulled out before the job is done.. just my opinion. see they fight for my rights too. . aint our country great

I understand what could happen if they were not there, I still think it's bull. To many ppl dying and the one that should be dead isn"t and it's insane. It's just dragging on to long and our soldiers need to come home.

Think of it this way...

I would like to believe that if we can help the governments of these other countries gain more control over their own lands, while stressing that we will help them drive out the terrorists and such, that it would severly limit the havens for these taliban, and other terrorists. That might help dwindle their numbers.

It's not just one guy we are after. It's all of those people who take out their own frustrations on innocent bystanders by injuring and killing, and then try to justify that it is in the name of their god, that we are trying to rid the world of.

Isn't that worth fighting for?

Regardless of the reason as to why our troops were sent there, or why they are still over there, this is what, I hope, they will accomplish. We aren't going to be able to simply stop them at our borders. We need to find them and handle this problem at the source.

I regret the loss of any life especialy our own American lives. However if you put it into context we lost more people in one day (D day) than we have lost in this whole war. All war is undesirable and unwanted and innocent and soldier's lives are lost. It is the price we have paid for our freedom from the first day of our country's exsistance. I cant think of a much worse thing for our military's moral than to pull them out before its done. Then maybe have to send em back again to start all over loose more lives doing it. Again just my humble opinion.

I am glad that you brought up that part about pulling out our troops too soon. I am no expert of foreign affairs or knowledgable enough to know this as fact or not but my common sense tells me that we would end up having to go back over there starting at square-one all over again.

Lots of things to discuss on this topic. Lots of different ideas out there. Both the Dem. and Rep. Parties are in a Civil War. The media isn't any help. It's hard to trust in any information that we receive on this subject.

It is no wonder why everyone is so frustrated and upset.
Let's all try to keep an open mind and have just a little bit of faith in our government.

though Im accused (lol) of being a republican... I am not.. both parties are corrupt and dirty somehow. I am however a concervitive Independant.. sucks cause it knocks me out of voting primaries but maybe they will change that soon. I vote my heart and who i think will best do the job.. more times than not a republican but they are more toward my concervitive views. have voted dem a few times .. right man/woman for the job is my motto ... dont care about letter behind their name.

As for information I go to Fox news. I refuse to watch CNN anymore as they preach the lib view non stop. Rush has some good info too though I dont worship him. lol

Yes, we are all entitled to our opinions, most of us here in Spec ops are going on our 4th and 5th tours over there. But, as far as my opinion goes, I signed that dotted line, I knew what I was getting myself into, being a 3rd gen Spec ops operator, I know, there might come that day, just hope its latter than sooner you know.. but as myself, i am willing to put my life on the line, so others may live. Attached is a pic of the patch we all wear on our uniform, it explains it all..

God Bless you and your fellow soldiers Hall. We as a country owe you a great debt of gratitude. If not for willing souls like yours we would have no hope and no country to call home. I only wish I could have served my country in some mannor, but physical limitations prevented that. The millitary has and will always have me and my family's support. You are doing one hell of a job for us. You come back safe to us.

Thanks for the input D.S and Silly. Well spoken on both your parts. I am not American, but Canadian and not to many ppl talk about the war that often. Why I don't know seeing as how we have our own troops over there fighting . I think ppl here just try to push it out of their minds because they believe it's not our war and Bush is just trying to be a cowboy. Maybe he is or isn't but terrisim is world wide and it does need to be stop by those who can help in doing so. So thanks to those who fight for all who can't, keep the enemy in your sights and return to your homes and families unharmed. Thanks Red. now you got me trying to figure out which one she is. LOL

no problem nut always good to hear all sides of it.. we dont have to agree. We apriciate your Canadian troops too over there doing their part for the cause .. I think in the end if our governments dont scew it up we all will be better off. Here is some very un politicaly correct food for thought. These terrorists dont understand anything but dieing for their cause.. they dont give a damn about their own lives but if we start bombing the hell out of their towns were their families live they may get the picture that its about more than them and stop their nonsence.. then again maybe they dont give a damn about their famililes either i dont know. but better their women and children than ours I think. Because we already know they would gladly kill as many of ours as they could. you have a good one.
