It sure was great to hear from you! Thanks for letting us know, (what the media doesn't think of as news), about the other fantastic things that are happening there. We sure can use some good news for a change DS has been missing you something fierce.... the other night, he drank himself into a stupor, (which helped me with keeping up with his kill-numbers) Actually, DS was on a roll.... with the "one-liners". He had me laughing so hard it hurt. Take care Hallsy

[glow=red,2,300]Well my fellow gents, and killers, how i sure miss you guys I am suffering major withdrawls over here, not being able to play.. but hey maybe for a couple weeks when i get back it will give DS and Silly some time to kick my butt before I get into the swing of things again lol. You guys are welcome on keeping you up to date. I know that all you get to see is the bad side of things over here, and trust me, i see it first hand every time we take flight. we are only in mere rock throwing distance away from baghdad, so we see the good and bad. I just try to bring out the good more than the bad, makes me, and everyone else feel alittle better about things over here. only 37 more days (i hope) till i am back in MOH action lol, (with significant others approval) lol But boy, am I going to take a vaction when i get home. I hope that you guys are all behaving, and the woman of your nightmares will be back soon to haunt you all. Untill then keep practicing lol.[/glow] Hallsy, over and out!! ;D

Hall, you deploy to Iraq for 2-month increments? Isn't that a bit odd? All my co-workers who go to the box are gone for a year. Just curious.

[glow=red,2,300]Hey gents, thanks for the posts, makes me feel loved and missed lol. To answer your question Des, We actually deploy for 120 day slots, but it has been all fubared for quite some time. like there are 3 CSAR bases, Moody GA, Davis Mothan AZ, and Nellis Nv, and for the last four years, we have had like 2 or 3 helicopters from each base, and X amount of personal from each base all the time and boy does it get messy over here with 3 different bases all trying to take comand. But the AF finaly has gotten smart. They are now just going to start deploying one base, their choppers, their crews, for 4 month slots, when one base leaves they take their choppers, and crews home and the gaining unit brings theirs. So I was the last of the fillers before one of the bases takes the whole shbang over, over here. When we leave it will finaly be a little organized. Hence why i am only doing a 60 day rotation. There are only a couple of carrer fields that I know of in the AF that do more than a 4 month tour. In the guidline it has to be waveried if any one person is going to deploy for more than 4 months at a time. The only people that deploy for a year are the army which they just uped to 15 months now, and boy are they pissed, and the marines. I hope that answered your question Des. And look forward to being home soon. [/glow] Hallsy

I know you are possessive of your chopper and all Hall, but why not leave the choppers there and rotate the personel. that would make more money sence I would think.. lol.. but I know not alot about these things.. just thought it would take a lot of money time and resources to transport all those choppers in and out of rotation. Arent they all the same? I mean control and armement wise for the ones being swapped out at end of tour of duty? anyway cant wait till your back in the game here. talk to you laters have a good one.

[glow=red,2,300]Hey Ds, yes they are all the same choppers, but each is asigned to a specific unit. And there are many inspections that we preform on them, the minior inspections can be done while deployed, but say for every 600 flight hours, we have to send it back to have that major inspection done on it, and other major inpections, and so on so forth. Yes it does cost money to transport them lol, aloting cargo planes and such, but due to the personal, and facilitys we have out here, that is why we rotate the choppers in and out, for major maintance and inspections. I think the army and everyone else does everything here, or just flys them untill they fall apart lol, but the AF is pretty picky on that sort of stuff. [/glow] hallsy

We actually deploy for 120 day slots... That does not make any sense. Seems like a lot of extra expense. But since when has the military made since. That is interesting to know. Hope all goes well for you Hallsy.
