I was talking with my number 2 child yesterday about how when I was in high school we had only 1 class with about 10 computers in it called "computer class". (back in the early 80's) I compared that with the classroom of today which holds 3-5 computers each. He thought for a miniute and asked " Dad, did your computers have wooden wires?".............LMAO

My first computer was a Radio Shack TRS80. I then had an Atari 800XL, a Commodore 64 and a Texas Instruments TI-99 or something like that... Then I got an Apple MacIntosh after the ad during the Super Bowl. I started buying and building PCs after that As to wooden wires, I am reminded of a similar "old age" story that my mother in law tells. Her youngest son once asked her.... "Mom, what was it like to be around with the dinosaurs?" He was five and really thought they had recently gone extinct. LOL...

I remember that the cool Commodore 64 users (me!) would mercilessly taunt the pathetic TRaSh-80 and Apple II wannabes! LOL

Never ask what kind of computer a person uses--if it's a Mac, he'll say; if not, why embarrass him?

Sweet, dependable, didn't need parts, kind of like a certain to-remain-unnamed computer I use........ ;D ;D that would be your windows box you use at work right? LOL, that is funny! Our IT wizards (after only 5 years of my using the silly thing) only last month doubled my RAM (to 512 Mb)! And now they want to "bump me up" to XP, which requires re-imaging the whole stupid computer (Macs don't need that for major OS upgrades, though a backup of data is advised), but they don't have enough RAM for me (1 Gb minimum needed, they say, and 2 Gb to do VISTA if we wanted to try that). They're not buying any new RAM or pc's--they plan to put us all on dumb terminals and make us work off the master server in the sky, even for word processing. Oh, yeah, sweet, dependable, doesn't need parts....NOT!!! So, as usual, NICE TRY! ;D
