This movie is indeed a must see. My early teen years happened to be in the 80's and since I have 3 boys I am well versed in what the Transformers are all about. This movie lives up to everything I remember and then some. It is loud, full of testosterone with lots of huge explosions. My kids and I were on the edge of our seats for most of the movie and when it ended we all had big smiles on our face.
Blueberry gives it 5 smiley faces> ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

My wife and I thought the trailers for it looked good too. Glad to hear it doesn't suck.

This was a SWEET movie. I also grew up in the 80's and was a Transformer fanatic.

LOL, boys and their toys! Sorry, I was already an adult before Transformer toys (and later, cartoons, or was it the other way around?) came out, and it seems as silly now as it did then, especially as I have a hard time separating Power Rangers from Transformers (some foreign teens transformed themselves together into some huge robotic monster killer, vs. cars and firetrucks and planes turning into individual robotic creatures). However, almost to a man, I have heard from my younger friends who grew up with transformers of how much they are looking forward to this movie, so, given that, I guess I'll have to see it too. Oh, there already was a transformer movie, you know, although animated (1986): imdb.com/title/tt0092106/

It was great...till they started talking lol. I felt like a 10 year old boy! I realize they aim at all audiences, but when can we see a "serious sci-fi?" I like humor and cg in movies, but sometimes it goes way over the top and is far from subtle. It ruins the aw-inspiring wow-factor for me. lol
I barely rememeber watching the Transformers cartoon as a kid , but I had the toys. How close did the new movie resemble the old cartoon series?

Just took the Lil guy to see this flick today... WOW .. this is a must see movie for the die hard action adventure/ sci-fi nut. He loved it so much its all he talked about on the way home, and cant wait to see if they make a second one. If you get the chance I would defiantly see this one on the big screen.
