I was a little bored this afternoon so I searched the web for MOH items... I came across this gaming keyboard & keyset(?). I have read posts about a few gaming keyboards but do not recall reading about this one. Cost is $49.99. "Zboard™ Gaming Keyboard Zboard is the first keyboard system of its kind, designed specifically to meet the needs of PC gamers by delivering unparalleled speed, action and control in game." webstore.ideazon.com/product.asp?pf_id=PW1USE1%2DB3ZBD01They even sell a "Medal of Honor Allied Assault™ Limited Edition Keyset for Zboard" whatever that is for $19.99. webstore.ideazon.com/product.asp?pf_id=IW0USE1-X1MOH01Has anyone used these items, or heard of them? I know DS mentioned getting a new gaming keyboard. Do you like the one you bought??

I think somebody here has one, I can remember who. I've always thought that laying one keyboard on top of another would probably make for sloppy feeling keystrokes.

I don't know - I had not thought of that. It seems that with this product the original keyboard pops off and the MOH keyset goes in its place. I have always used a plain old mouse for left, right , up & down and the arrow keys for movement. I am unsure if I would like giving up the mouse for all keys. But I am considering giving it a whirl

here ya go vin.. this is the merc gaming board... it is the next generation of the zboard.. instead of having to buy and change out the key sets you control the different settings with a program. It comes with a library of different key sets built into it. You just have to click and choose which game you want it set for. Note the game pad on the left hand side of the keyboard. It is very nice to have all your keys easily accessible in finger reach not shifting of your hand to different locations to hit the key you need. Took me about 3 days to retrain my muscle memory to it but now I love it. I believe IDA also bought one of these last month. I would not give up this keyboard I highly recommend it. Paid $49.95 for it at Best Buy. Here is a link to their website for more info on it.. Also I see they have released a new back lit version of this key board. tinyurl.com/2zkp6t

Wow... The Merc really does look good. I like the idea of software programming. My only fear is that I am left handed. I have always used a mouse with my left havnd to "look" and "turn" in all directions and the arrows on the right side of the keyboard or movement. If I did that with this keyboard I would not need a mouse at all, right? I could never use a mouse with my right hand, it just would not feel correct to me. If I could use the red buttons like a mouse i would give it a try.

Sorry man but its a right handed world we live in. Im sure you know this by now though. I most definitely do know that I searched for the back lit version you mention but found nothing on it. The Tarantula by Razer looked cool too. I think I will buy a normal wireless keyboard & mouse for my new monster. I am going to Best But tomorrow. I will look at the Merc while there. So you use a mouse in your right hand for F,B,L, & R and the left hand for the fang area? If the red keys on the Merc are used for looking and turning I should have no problem with the board as the red keys would function like my mouse does now. Am I correct on this?

I wouldn't recomend the wireless mouse, I had been using one until today.. it makes a huge difference in reaction time. you get alot of mouse lag sometimes while the mouse communicates to the receiver then back to game. I could tell the difference right away when I hooked up my new mouse today. Had to totally readjust for the lack of lag. Anyway just my opinion on the matter for what its worth. Have fun building that monster. ;D

I HAD the original Zboard w/changeable key-sets . I wouldn't recommend it ! I switched to the Merc keyboard close to a year ago . Have had NO problems ! I wouldn't trade it !! EDIT : er..........uh.........Well, I may trade it for ANOTHER Merc (Stealth)

Ah... I will definately wait for the new version w/USB and illumination. Where did you find info on it?
As to a mouse, it is incredibly hard to find a mouse big enough for my hands. I have used a wireless Microsoft mouse for years, but a few months ago is crapped out. I have bought three others and returned them all as they just dont "fit" my left hand. I will explore wired options tomorrow at Best Buy. THANKS SO MUCH for all the input on the Merc. I was prepared to buy the Zboard.
