I just got back from watching Beowulf on a huge IMAX screen in 3-D! It was amazing. The detail of the animated characters is unbelievable. I highly recommend this movie and if its available near you, see it in the IMAX 3-D.
By the way, this isn't a children's movie. Its BARELY PG13, but it probably deserved an R rating.

Wow, Lam, you're so avant garde--it was only a couple weeks ago that I finally saw the other semi-animated flick you recommended (300). It was good. This one.....I'll check out when it's available for DVD to rent.
I saw The Queen with Helen Mirren last night; it was much better than I expected, and very interesting about the underlying movement in the UK to abolish or limit the king/queen (switch from constitutional monarchy to republic). The wife loved it, too, as it was sort of a story of the aftermath of the Princess Di death. I recommend this one.

The nearest IMAX for me is in Madison, WI. (about an hour). My friend went up there to see and he said it was pretty good too.

I haven't been to a movie house for about 5 or 6 years.... I need to get out more, maybe.....?
Got sick of inconsiderate kids, teenagers, & adults.... sticky seats, & costs....it's almost cheaper to BUY the DVDs when they come out...
Just call me Pvt. "Grumpy" Michaels today....

I don't blame ya Pvt._M. Its an easy $30-$35 everytime my wife and I go out. But, if we wait a month or 2, we can go see the same movie in the $1 theater.

I love the $1 or $1.99 theaters, but alas, none here for the last 5 years! And I agree with Michaels--if I wait just a few months, I can either rent it for a week (or longer, with no late fees from Blockbuster) for less than $5, or buy it for about $15 new from multiple sites, and the whole family can watch it under controlled conditions with subtitles and extras, cheap food, clean seats, and as many times as we want when we want. I don't like PPV because it can be interrupted and is only for 24 hours, usually.
However, I'm debating whether to spring for the big bucks and take the chill-rens to the Beatles music remakes movie (End of the Universe, or something) sometime soon, because they love the soundtrack and they're home for the holidays (now and Christmas), but I worry it will be too much "Make Love, Not War."

I love my DVR built right into my direct tv sat box.. can order pay per view and record it.. then burn it to a dvd. cost is 3.99 a movie.. I only go to the theaters to see the movies that I just cant wait to see.. or I think will be much better on the big screen..
Guess I'm lucky to live here.. not too many problems with sticky seats or rude people at the show... small town life rocks.. the price still sucks butt though.

...it was only a couple weeks ago that I finally saw the other semi-animated flick you recommended (300). I still have not seen 300. Thank for the Rating Lam. I was wondering if my son could see it or not. Looks like "we" don't get to see this one either LOL.
