Never ask what kind of computer a person uses--if it's a Mac, he'll say; if not, why embarrass him?

The new wireless, ultra-thin, touchpad, back-lit screen and keyboard, ultra-chic laptop by Apple, the MacBook Air: www.apple.com/macbookair/Make sure you watch the ad and the guided tour. Many iPhone features (sorry, DS!) are incorporated into its design and function. Another gorgeously-designed and functional computer tool for the modern user!

I just watched the guided tour, and I must say I am IMPRESSED! Wow, that's cool and amazing that they can get it that small and still have everything you could ever want it to do. I'm almost tempted to convert to MACs, so I'm going to go lay down for a while until the feeling passes.

cool looking lil package. Was surprised at the cost.. was not as much as I thought it would be.
Only draw back that I saw was the lack of the cd/dvd drive. This is a feature that I would want built in. I do not want to rent wireless movies. I want to play the ones I already own.
Other than that it is a cool looking lil computer.

VERY impressive. The only thing I didnt like is the lack of an optical drive. I know that they have resolved this, but I would like a physical drive for software installation and backup. Though I suppose a USB drive could easily be utilized for this. I wonder about heat issues?

I'll bet the entire metal body acts as a heatsink. With the optical drive gone and LED backlighting, the power consumption would go WAY down. Expecially if you opt for the solid state hard drive. I don't think the lack of optical drive is going to matter. The demo shows how easy it is to remotely use one. I'm guessing that all MAC users who buy this will already have a desktop that they can remote, or will simply purchase the optional external CD-ROM.
"Rent wireless movies" Ha! LOL What they mean is rip your DVD's to hard drive and watch them whenever you want.

yes you could rip them to your hd.. man that eats up disk space fast though..
yes they have the add on optical drive.. would be a pain on a airplane or on a road trip. Hard to remote your home pc if your 1000 miles away and in the air. That is what I ment by being able to use my own dvd's.
