Not available yet as a region 1 dvd for US purchase. UK version is region 2 and you have to have a special dvd player or hack your own in order to see the dvd's from the UK. Not sure if the show is playing on BBC:America cable network. I haven't seen or heard of it before now. There are some rumors that it was going to be redone with American writing and acting. It is a 16-episode series. Just some info I found while looking into this.

No offence here, but to redo it american style will ruin the whole idea, just like "the Office" something thats typicly english can not be translated into american and still work, cultures are far to differant for that. Ok now you can beat me with a stick :-)

Oops sorry red, yes it is a 16 series, also the spin off "hunt" is now showing just as good, reminds me of the old "Sweeny" series :-)

My point was, maybe release of Region 1 DVD version is because American version redo is in the works???
Anyway. The American redo of Brit humor is sometimes better. Try and tell me the Brits have anything that even compares with the Americanized Steptoe and Son (Sanford and Son), which was a creature all its own!

I must agree.... Sanford & Son is likely the best Brit to USA TV crossover ever. I will still watch those old episodes, even though I have seen them many times before. RIP Redd Foxx
