Hey Lamron,I was playing on the Boston Battlefields server the other night{no one was on the playground} and the are runningsome of the original allied assault maps that are modified for multiplayer.Is there any possibility of getting some of those on our server? thanks.

Which maps? Hopefully not Untersiete or Ardennes...those two maps give me gas.

There are several servers using converted single player maps. The nice thing about them is that you don't have to download anything. One of these days I'll probably get around to converting a couple. The problem with most of them is that they are very linear. In single player, you are following a defined path to the objective on a pretty narrow course. That map shaped doesn't work for several players becuase there is so many bottlenecks. Some of the bigger maps have sniper possibilities though.

this was mentioned earlier: I would like to have some version of the beach landing assault map for team, maybe with the axis unable to leave the lower ditch/tunnels (can't think of the word) and axis unable to use rifles/snipers

No responses to date. I guess that is my answer! Ok, what about this? A day or so ago, a bunch of us with some visitors tried, at the suggestion of someone else (?Shootsy, another visitor?) to do Team on Druckammern because "on Team you can steal the sub." That sounded cool, so we went there--Team works fine (Widow found some excellent long distance sniping spots in shadows, accenting her dark outfit, and Shootsy found out his grenades OCCASIONALLY work indoors, too) but that was it--the suggestor said "TOW isn't set." ?Tug of War? Any further thoughts, Lamron, about those different game types previously discussed (steal the letter, Voodoo, etc.)? Maybe just one type for one map and another type for another map, as a way to try? Say, steal the letter for Destroyed Village (lots of ways to run/places to duck/hide in that map, not too many chokepoints), and TOW for Druckammern if the sub part is true. Assassin was one team mode mentioned earlier, and that might be easy to implement, as the scripts already exist which allow for highlighting of an individual player: Monster and Clown Suit "paint" the target and make him identifiable and different from everyone else, and with Monster he can even be tracked inside buildings from the outside; then, the stated object would be simply to kill the painted person/protect the painted person, and that would change either every 3 or 5 mins, say, or every (SHORT) map while in that mode. No need for every option to be available for every map. Just a few maps with different options to break the monotony of FFA bezerkerfests and Team games with no point besides kill half the people twice as often. Again, just food for thought, and all comments welcome. The Lord High Sheriff will, of course, render final judgment and mete out punishment to the wicked or just truly-wack.

I have not forgotten you! We talked about this awhile back, and I'm still planning on adding some type of objective style game play. Designing it, scripting it, and making changes to the menu so it will be selectable, all take quite a bit of time/work to do, and I haven't gotten into it yet.
Rest assured,I have added the concept to the swirling tornado in my mind, we'll just have to wait and see which trailer park it ends up destroying.

I like the idea. And..I like the level, although it has never been fun trying to get to the beach and into the 'trenches'. If you can level the playing fields, it might be interesting if-- --If you could add wall climbs like that off the beach in Navarone..even better, make them silent on accent. --If you'd make the damage from a fall or slide from atop the cliffs say....a 76% health hit...bleeeeeeed!!! --and, I noticed in the new Algiers level, when you are firing the main machine gun(in the bldg. with the step out sideroof), the machine gun AND the railing glow when firing(cool effect) Possible to do this to the heavys in the beach landing assaults' future? Anyway, I hope this is helpful....?

(shaking my head and laughing, and laughing) You win. I hadn't heard those, and I can't top them. The only saving grace is that my wife is the native Floridian, I'm a Yankee transplant (from East Tennessee). Good ideas on the Beach map, too, Feliks. I especially like the silent ascent spots on the walls. I had earlier proposed a portable single-use works-anywhere rope ladder for other maps. I think that was when Lamron said he was still laughing at some of the requests for mods/skins, at what was possible and what was a sci-fi dream. We'll see if you garner any comments such as "What's in that cosmic catnip, anyway?"

Just played 'the Refinery' map with XIDWolf. The map looked cool and was complex enough for say 8 players. Unless you use the flamethrower. Man that has some range. Then scorches the ground all around. (Wish my airstrikes would burn like that after the strike.) But after a short bit, Wolf started "glitching", he stated. We moved on.
I liked the map. I especially liked the walkways. Jury is still out on the Flamer.

lamron do you just play FFA or obj too..if you play obj too i have some great maps for you...im running ffa daily and then in the evening run objectives and the maps are amazing bullettrain/dead end streets/last castle/overpass...they was a big hits on my server i can send to you it if you like..
