Sir_Shootsalot sent me a map with a flame thrower in it. Its the same as the one that used to be Stadt2. Not sure about the flame thrower, but I did like the map. It has been added to the download section and is on the server now.
I'm going to leave the flame thrower in for now. When we had it before it lagged badly. We'll see how it goes and I might adjust the range/settings to try to make it workable. Or if nobody likes it, I'll just scrap it.

You are very welcome Lamron.I am glad to be able to be any help .I think that it should be me thanking you for all of the hard work you are always putting into your play ground and it shows we all talk about it, we all say lamrons playground rocks.I will be looking forward to playing on the new map and maybe burning you a little...lol and Red too...lol. Sky looks fine to me! Don't know what you're seeing that I'm not.
I forgot that the flame thrower conflicts with my weapons mod. Fixed it but the bash is not intended to work. If we end up keeping it, I'll fix the animation for it.
Super Colt for snipers was giving them too much of an advantage, and other players kept asking why they didn't have a pistol. I abandoned that idea and just traded the revolvers for pistols and made them a little faster for everybody.

Yep, me too. Instead of a sky I see images of shredded walls that jitter all about in a very disorienting manner.

the refinery plays fine for me too..have no issues. It is strange because Big was also having an issue with the roof and sky, plus he also seen 3 of me...which would explain all my kills (or tippin the bottle that nite...lol)

It played fine last night. It's not really the sniper map I thought it might be, because there are so many objects on the ground (towers, walls, trucks, etc.), but the flame thrower is FUN (and dangerous to self) and makes up for that. I didn't have any lag issues except when being self-burned or when I and another flamer were toasting each other at the same time--then I effectively got a freeze-frame screen picture of flames and my non-death health followed a few seconds later by my looking into the now-fixed sky through my sightless eyes.
That the map was not "vetted" by Lamron prior to being released to the Playground really shows--it just isn't polished with an eye toward game play the way his mods usually are.
The "catwalks" (actually, the pipes between the storage tanks and the refinery building, I assume that's what Desmo was referring to) are interesting but in the end useless except for eye candy, because you can't stop on them or easily negotiate corners on them because they're rounded and you constantly slip off to the ground unless you're moving. Also, there appears to be no way to climb the storage tanks from those pipes or otherwise. Everyone knows storage tanks have ladders somewhere on them--many dramatic scenes in movies and on TV have shown this! So, changing the upper surface of the pipes to make them walkable/stoppable and adding a ladder or so to the tanks would help the map quite a bit.
The locations of the flame throwers could also be improved, in that they are too exposed--dropping your primary weapon, picking up the flamer, and equipping yourself with it IN THE SPOTS WHERE THEY ARE LOCATED takes too much time, and I frequently died just trying to pick it up and strap it on, in fact, it seemed as if people were honing in on that. Just moving them away from first floor doorways and windows would be a big improvement.
Could the flamer alternate fire be changed to give 3 shorter distance squirts than the primary fire? Could a fuel gauge be added, as with the jetpack? The packs do eventually run out.
So, that's my feedback. It's always good to get a new map, and this one is a keeper and could perhaps even be made better. Comments welcome.

followed a few seconds later by my looking into the now-fixed sky through my sightless eyes. So can everybody see the sky correctly now? I added a possible fix for it, but its hard for me to troubleshoot a problem I don't see. The map does need some tweaking. I wanted to give it a test run and see if we like the flame throwers and see how it plays before I take the time to "polish" it.

Rather than a chopped-up wall glitch covering the sky, I now see a drab, boring, solid gray sky. Still, much better than it was and no longer so disorienting as to make it unplayable.
