Thought I'd share a story from work about 10 days ago. A call was dispatched to me: "Male with a gun...pointed rifle at neighbours poodle...swearing, then went back inside his house." After a couple of hours of trying to contact him to coax him out of the house , in we went. Upstairs in the loft I find him sitting naked in front of his computer playing Breakthrough! When interviewing him later I asked him why he pointed the rifle at the poodle, and why did he not answer the phone when we were calling. His response was "Well that d**n dog wouldn't stop barking and I was stuck on a section of my game, I couldn't concentrate, so I thought I'd kill the yappy mutt. I didn't know you guys were calling because I unplug my phone when I am playing." He then apologized for his actions, stating he was "addicted" to the Medal of Honor games. I think we can all understand that part well enough. Don't worry, I didn't say anything about our favorite gaming spot! Anyway, perhaps this fella can kick his "addiction" while in jail awaiting a Trial! ;D

As far as I can see, no crime was committed here. Killing a barking dog for interrupting MOH play seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Just an update regarding this fellas day in court. Plead guilty...10 yr firearms prohibition...$1000 fine....3 yrs on probation including mandatory counseling.
His lawyer got up in court during the sentencing stage and advised his client was sorry for his actions and had been going through a rough patch in his life. His wife had recently left him (3rd time married) and he is required to pay over $3500 per month in child support/alimony!!!! His counsel further explained that video games are his only escape from reality and the incident was "regrettable". Almost felt sorry for the poor fella until his past convictions were read out prior to sentence!!
Anyway, I figured that I would post the result in case anyone was interested in this odd incident.

Yes, Woody, thanks for the followup. You know, this seems a harsh penalty merely for threatening a poodle!!! I mean, come on, a poodle?! That merits an awared to some people! And was he in jail for a year awaiting trial? Boy, good thing he didn't do anything serious in Canada, such as littering!
