An itty bitty nuisance that I have noticed when I click on 'server status'... an advertisement appears to start in the background, because it shows up on my task bar. No pop-up ever appears, however. I have to right-click and close the ad on the task bar every time I check on the server. Since the ad never appears anyway, can we do away with it?

What you are seeing is probably a "pop-under". If you closed your browser window completely, you would probably find it still there. Hard to say for sure because I use a good ad/pop-up blocker and I don't get them. As far as removing it, the website can't actually check the status of the server. An independant company scans the server and converts the info to a readable format for the website. The ads are from them (its a free service), and I don't have any control over it. If you need a good adware/spyware/pop-up blocker, here is the one I use and recommend. It does a very good job of blocking everything I don't want, while not interfering with stuff I do want to see. www.STOPzilla.com

I run Safari as my web browser (Mac OS 10.3.5) with pop-ups blocked from the built-in software options (oh, I'm sorry, Windows needs a separate program/add-on to run to block pop-ups?--forget I mentioned that), and I don't get that effect, Des, although the server status image does include a running ad within it (which doesn't hinder the info or have to be closed separately). I really like the server status option, Lamron, thanks for it.

Soon after Lamron switched to the new new server status link, I noticed that it didn't report the number of players correctly, and I posted that elsewhere here in the forums, and Lamron gave a response (see below). I assume that is the same issue, not yet corrected by the server people. The custom ServerShot is not displaying players in slots higher than 12. Its being worked on.

Yes, the problem still exists. I've E-Mailed them several times asking for a fix, with no response yet.

The old server status page at serverspy.net still works, and it provides a different set of statistics, some of which are very interesting (number of players last few months, number last few hours, etc.). Try this (bookmark it for future, if you want): www.serverspy.net/site/search/server.html?a=24.166.13.84:12203&g=18MAKE SURE YOU ADD IN THE REST OF THE SERVER ADDRESS AT THE END, THE 12203&g=18; THE FORUM UPGRADE DOESN'T SEEM TO OPEN AN ENTIRE LINK, AS I FOUND WHEN I TRIED THE MINI-GUN LINK. Just copy the entire link line, starting your mouse drag from the right side and dragging to the left so you can copy it without prematurely launching the link, and then paste it into your web browser. If you don't add the 12203&g=18, you won't find the current server status, just stats.

Lost Child is right!!! The server status shows the server is down or permanently changing maps, but it's open and available--just join as usual.
Thanks for checking, Lost, I never would have.

My internet connection (Comcast) has been very, very intermittent these last few days, so I'm not sure what all problems there are and who all are having them, so maybe this is why the Server Status keeps saying "server down" when it is open for business.
Or did the bots/new fix change the port setting on the server somehow, with our new fix letting us find it automatically but the usual ways not showing it? I couldn't find Lamronsplayground listed under servers when I went the usual MOH multiplayer route of looking up servers and which map they're playing and how many players are there, etc.

Words can not begin to express my level of all-consuming passionate HATRED for this router and everyone remotely involved in its development. I was rearranging my computer desk to make room for an extra monitor, and I had to unplug the router. It took me several hours to get it to be minimally functional again. Apparently it was still blocking query ports even though it was set to allow ALL ports, and that's why the server can't be seen on any lists / status pages. I think I've got it working again.
Its a D-Link router. Don't ever buy one. Someone went through alot of extra effort to make it as hard to use as possible. Half the functions don't even work, and the other half are hit-and-miss. And it constantly lies about what its doing and the status of the connected computers.
Well, now at least I know why there has been very little server activity for the last couple of days, no one can find it! I was starting to think that nobody liked me anymore!

Ya know that isn't true...at least from me...I just kept checking status and seen it was down...figured your server crashed. But was just another one of those stupid puter things that happen.

status shows down last eve and today, yet server is up and running ok; outsiders who don't try the IP address directly will not see it on the master server list, either, sooo.....the playground has been empty everytime I've gone there.
?--the same problem as before, Lamron, your router having a hissy fit, being passive aggressive to you, letting data in and out except that it's wearing a sign that says "closed"?

Yes, I can't fix it because there's nothing wrong. I have all ports to that computer completely open, and the router INSISTS that everything is being let through with no restrictions. But it still doesn't work. I upgraded the router drivers to the newest version, but its WORSE than the old version, and I can't get it to go back to the original driver.

I found an old out-of-date router driver that seems to work. Server status is back up (for now at least).
