Hey all!
I have a server running from my computer. and the pings are acting really messed up... someone from the U.K connected with a ping of 150 (to be expected). but someone in my state (about an hour drive from my house) connected with a ping of 50-65... Is that because DSL's upload speed is a lot lower than its download speed? and the computer next to mine connects with a ping of 1-11. I have no Idea why that is, probably my internet is crap... lol
any ideas please tell me.
Thanks!

It will all depend on how many servers your players will have to bounce off of (redirects) before they get to yours.

Those pings sound totally normal to me, not messed up at all, given the distances from the home server to the different connecting computers.

Latency induced by network re-routing, outage avoidance (detours), load balancing, congestion, is usually the culprit in long round trip delays. Packet networks use collections of private and "public" thoroughfares. Traversing these networks can be perilous to us gamers. Your local cable or DSL provider service will only be as good as the carriers they have selected... usually the lowest bidder; not necessarily the best network performance.

ok... I know that foresight.cfg was not in global for some file, where are the locations for foresight.cfg. the only one I could find is in the configs folder, is there anywhere else foresight.cfg is supposed to be?
Thanks!

Don't know how a server setup is or what it's like for Windows, but as a client with a Mac running BT, the file is here: C/Users/Admin/Library/Application Support/MOHAA Breakthrough/maintt/configs

I found out what my problem was, I replaced all the original files in the mainta folder with stock. then every time I would go in my server and make some rcon command, it would say "wtriting to foresight.cfg" 6 times. I wondered vaguely what that was, when I opened the server again, it made those messages again. I then replaced the files again, made my changes to foresight.cfg, then I made it read only... and its workin.
