I noticed last night that the arrow death message is wrong (nobody told me!). I need to HEX edit a new file to fix that, but I can't remember what it used to say! I had it worked out to be exactly the right number of letters to replace the original phrase. Anybody remember what the proper arrow death message is?

Here's what you wrote in the Crossbow Project area of the forums (bolding added):

PS, I wondered what the "landmine" messages were, especially as they happened and I didn't hear any explosions. Don't know how long that has been occurring, but it seems to me that it has popped up over just the last week.

The landmine message has been going on for a long time. If I recall correctly, it happened when Lamron moved the server to his other PC a few months ago. I can't believe no-one brought it up . Hopefully Red's given out enough info to fix it cause I don't remember what the message was, despite all the hours I logged using the crossbow.

That's what I was looking for. I can fix it now. I haven't played in about three months, so I didn't know we had the problem. Gumblies! Stop trying to break the server and let me know about the little problems! LOL

Does this mean that the arrow must strike a fatal hit to kill as opposed to instant death by just hitting anywhere?
If not, let's consider allowing the BPV to include arrow deflection....
Not a complaint, mind you...just a suggestion....

Projectile weapons are not location-specific, so all hits are registered the same.

This Gumby apologizes. ;D
I meant to bring it up the last time I played but then Bat kept me playing way too late and the brain went to sleep.
Appropriate name for this thread, lol

UHMMM, last night, Bat21 and I played for about 5 mins before I lost my internet (so I didn't have a lot of trial and error time, and I hope I remembered the correct keys), and I noticed that 1) I couldn't pull up any RE's (grenade and knife came up but not the RE controller) 2) I couldn't pull up the skyhook (silenced pistol and machete came up but not skyhook) 3) The "landmine" message is still messed up and now read "BAT*21[usa] was hit by RedRock's arrow**was hit by" (where the ** represents two blank spaces; don't know if there are any spaces after the second "was hit by"; if you need a screenie, let me know, Lamron)
The RE and skyhook problem was on "the mission" map (the fortress where the spotlights shred you with machine gun fire when they see you) and the landmine message was on "the train station" map (forgot actual map names).

1) I wasn't able to duplicate this ?? 2) The GHook replaces the Machette only on maps that have useable hook points. 3) I think I have this fixed now, but I didn't have anyone to test it on.

Seems to me you should implement your bot mod for those situations where you need a dummy to kill or be killed.
