The flag is not solid so that players without the client fix that can't see it won't be bumping into something invisible. If you are too close, or overlapping the flag pole you can't pick it up. Take a step or two back and you'll be able to grab it.

I have tried to figure the flag thing out. Most of the time I have a hard time even "grabbing" the flag. I crouch, jump, walk in and out of it (all the while hitting use). I like this added twist to the game, makes it fun. See? See? See? ?? I'm not the only one with problems with the flags!!! By the time I manage to grab it with all the same gyrations (can't be too close, can't be too far, have to stand up to reach it, don't get shot trying, don't bump the wrong key trying to hit use, etc.) it has changed from nice flag to bad flag!

Lamron, I know what the clue is for the flags, but you should maybe give some very small clues in the forum to help people figure it out. It seems as if nobody, or almost nobody knows the difference, as I see 'Someone Grabbed a Death Flag' a lot.

When its a death flag, there's something extra near it.

No, those ribs are a little bit farther away, from the frantic scampering search for a cure to your painful, sizzling death.
Btw lam, I really like that huge ball of flame thats surrounds the death flag grabbers.

Well... after some trial and error I think I know the secret to the flags rewarding or punishing ways.

I noticed a couple of days ago that as long as you have 100+ health that everytime you get a flag you get 50 more health. I got up to 750 in Train Station doing this. (Btw, air strikes and prox. mines do 200 damage each). I don't know if that was intentional but it seems kind of unfair.

I thought the death flags and good flags alternated? Doesn't someone have to grab a death flag before a good flag resurfaces?
