I don't have time to look it up now, DS, but somewhere here on the forums, Lamron told us about it. It's easy. It's a website, and you go there and paste in your internet address and it generates a tiny url for you to copy and use instead.

Ugggg! I'm not even listed anymore because of the lack of game time (damn internet on the fritz at home). Went from 2nd place to non-existant :-(
I vow to reclaim my spot in the top 10 as soon as possible

Yeah I'm nowhere to be found either. My computer decided it would really like the ground better than my desk... so it is no longer working. I'm using my dads work laptop. So I can't install anything on it. I should be getting a new computer within the next month.
So red... would I be able to get a decent computer (preferrably a laptop, but not required) for between $1000 and $1200? I'd look it up myself, but I know you'll give me a lot more info then I could ever have found myself.

I'm not gonna do your homework, youngster, but I will say this much, go with the desktop, not the laptop--it's all one piece, not large at all, and has better keyboard and screen options, and is cheaper for what you get, I think:
iMacs start at $999 but I wouldn't get anything less than this iMac: 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 1GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x512 160GB Serial ATA drive SuperDrive 8X (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) Keyboard & Mighty Mouse + Mac OS X - U.S. English ATI Radeon X1600 128MB SDRAM (this board is recommended for MOH Airborne, although 256 MB option is better, but that's not available until you get the 20 inch screen) 17-inch widescreen LCD AirPort Extreme Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR Ships: Within 24 hours Free Shipping $1,199.00
That's from the Apple website. There are still taxes to pay, depending upon your state. At the local Apple Stores, Apple usually offers a 7 to 10% discount for college students or the same discount for government (any) employees if you show an ID--that's enough to handle the taxes, so you know where your ballpark base budget lies.
There are other extras, too, to consider. You might want a larger internal Hard Disk ($75 or so) or more RAM ($175 or so, but you can buy it and install it yourself at any time, too, so you can wait for sales, but 1 GB goes farther with a Mac than with Windows), and you might want the AppleCare insurance plan $160 or so). I don't think the .Mac account is necessary. You'll probably want the student version of MS Works, I think it's about $99, so you'll own a full version of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint (the iMac comes with 30-day trial version only--be sure to delete it before installing the full version). You'll want a printer/scanner/copier, probably--usually there's one available for $100 with a $100 rebate, so you pay for it up front, then file for the rebate and get it all back (read and follow instructions carefully, especially with an eye to dates!). External speakers are nice, too, from $39 to $99, to enjoy your iTunes and DVD's with (with the built-in remote control of your computer!). No bluetooth, wireless, ethernet cards, camera, microphone, etc. needed--it's all there already. However, I would consider a multibutton scrollwheel mouse, wireless or otherwise, rather than Apple's mighty mouse (which is great for word processing and internet, but not for gaming).
Plus, until about 9/1/07, students buying a Mac get a free iPod (actually, you buy it up front and get a rebate up to $199).
Go to Apple.com for info. But go to your nearest Apple retail store and look around and try them out. You might want a laptop or tower instead, who knows, but I wouldn't recommend the lower end MacBook, and avoid the Combo drive if you can (doesn't write to DVD, just reads)--the SuperDrive is better.
Just give it a chance.

Red,
That really is not bad for a Mac at all! Looks like prices have dropped a good bit on them. I paid more for that for each of the two Macs I had and that was back in the 1980s.
I may have to "turn to the dark side" and buy a second laptop, a mac for gaming. I LOVE my Alienware laptop.

Thanks red. I'll try going into one of apples stores. I live about 20 miles away from the Mall of America, and they have a pretty big apple store in there.
I don't really need the free iPod, but I don't have a problem with having two of them.

Red, just curious, but with respect to full disclosure, how many shares of Apple do you own? LOL And if not, you should, or at least be working for them and getting something financial out of your loyal devotion.

I don't really need the free iPod, but I don't have a problem with having two of them. Then, you might want to wait until the Fall or later to get a new Mac, so that it will come pre-loaded with the new OS, Leopard, rather than upgrading to it later. If you decide to buy a Mac, of course.

I wish everything in life worked as well as my Mac, and that I enjoyed those things half as well. Sorry to inflinct them on you all so often, I just can't hold back, you know?

I have no idea how I made it to #10 on the server. Must be no one else playing.
