Silly... have you tried Paint Shop Pro by JASC software? I have been using it for over a decade - since it was freeware. It is pretty powerful and easy to use.

Pop, I am very disappointed in your photo editing here. A simple quick click on the "mirror" button would have made that a bit more realistic, (plus I wouldn't have that crick in my neck).
LMAO
Upon further examination of that photo.... I did have a shirt exactly like that one.

Try GIMP, its open-source but not terribly easy to use.

I was going through a pile of programs I have found buried in the corner of my office and found a Jasc freeware program. Although Vista doesn't trust this program enough to let it alter the registry, it still works. Thanks for the suggestions Vin and Lam!

This photo of my Dad in his one-room-school-classroom, was my first real success using photo editing programs. His nickname was and still is, Moose. 1946 would be my best guess at the age of the original photo. This photo was in bad shape. It had creases and water-spots all over it. Took me about 2 hours to restore it to "like-new condition". Not to get off subject, but this is a fine restoration job ! Another reason this photo intrigues me is approx.date and objects in the classroom (other then the antlers I have two of these desks ! I received them from my wife's grandmother . I didn't really know what the approx. era they were from . Now I have at least a general idea , thanks !

Using the approximate age of the photo, and looking at how old and beat-up those desks are already. I would say that DS is pretty close to his estimate on the age of the desks. Oh and Lamron. YOU WEREN'T KIDDING ABOUT GIMP NOT BEING TOO TERRIBLY EASY TO USE! lol It will take me some time to get used to it, but wow. For a free program, it really is a powerful one!! Thanks for that compliment, Lost! It was one of those projects that at first, seemed impossible to do. Then I finally started to get the hang of the program. When you get done with a project like this, even though it doesn't really compare anything like CREATING A CROSSBOW, it really was a very satisfying feeling of accomplishment.

I love that feeling silly.. now I wish I could get to that feeling with the cod4 mod tools. Man you just about need a masters in graphics design to figure that program out.
as for the desks.. I have a lil experience with antiques.. I used to buy them at auctions and resell on ebay all the time. Wish there were good auctions here were I moved too. I would still be doing it. I made enough to make the house and utility payments every month and put about 10 hours a week into it.
very nice job on the photo silly
