Yeah, I know about the black boxes, but many only go back about 30 seconds' worth of data.

True about the boxes but it is always the last 5 seconds that investigators care about.

If it had worked for me as the abs was intended I would love em. I could not steer out of the situation and slid to the ditch anyway. Was only doing 30 mph at the time. Maybe I am just too old school. LOL I haven't gotten into this thread , because what has been posted has been pretty knowledgeable . But as a mechanic for a living , specializing in the mechanical repairs to accident vehicles , I thought I would ask a question. DS, did your vehicle have FOUR wheel ABS or REAR ABS ? Many vehicles are marketed as having ABS brakes , and quite a few only have rear ABS. It makes a world of difference having 4 wheel ABS as opposed to rear wheel ABS . Rear ABS keeps the back end from passing you , but is not much help on the front wheels

not sure.. it actually was not my car.. it's my dad's jeep grand Cherokee. 1993 4x4. Do not know if it has 4 wheel abs or rear. I guess I just assumed they were all 4wheel abs..
Learn something new every day.. Thanks LC

Wow, DS, and the whole time I thought you were talking about not liking ABS on your motorcycle.

well we went for quite a few rides this past week...she hates the seat, thought I would convince her that a V-rod was better..nope..she ain't falling for it. I actually like this little unit, good power..has had some work though but overall a nice ride..for 1 person.I have it for this entire week and am going to play with it a bit.

Mar, are you borrowing the bike, test driving it from a dealer for a week, or renting it? Just curious is all.

this unit is my brother-in-laws...we went from spending a week at our cottage to their's this past week(went for weekend)..when we were leaving he gave me the key to the garage and the Harley and said happy anniversary...take it.He just bought it this year and I think I put more km's on it than he has. His goal is to give it to his daughter when she turns 16...3 yrs from now.

I hear that the sun downer seats for the HD's are great. I have a Mustang seat on my Yamammaha....the best $$$ I ever spent.
