Well I looked and only found an ariel view :-( but it was taken in Sept 2006 so not to old. I don't mind my house being on the net, does not bother me as it does not show anything that a passer by can see and my special plants are under glass anyway :-)

I think the street level view is not going to exist for most properties/homes, it's just way too much data to obtain easily. Instead, it's likely that it exists only when the pictures are in some sort of public database or venue, such as when a property is listed for sale or is reassessed for taxes (man, that reassessed word looks weird, but I'm gonna skip the spellcheck) and a local public agency does the pictures. Nope! Someone from Google actually drove down every street in Indianapolis with a special car with 360 degree cameras. The pictures I posted where angles and positions I selected as examples, but you can move the camera around however you want and even look down at the car carrying the cameras. Try this neighborhood (picked at random): tinyurl.com/4tuh3lClick on the "Street View" button, and when the house picture comes up, select "Full Screen" from inside that box. Then you can drive down the street, turn corners, go wherever you want using the arrows on the street. Use your mouse to drag the camera view up/down or to whatever angle you want. You can actually choose to look ANY house from any direction visible from the street. If there's a detail you want to see close up, use the mouse wheel to zoom in. Feel free to peek in any windows you can get a good angle on.

If you look straight down you can see some details of the actual car the camera is attached to.

Wow, I didn't want to believe it, but there it is! Incredible. And google actually paid for that to be done? Wow.

Yea but that was a stick pin on a globe, and a pic you selected to share. ( If I am remembering correctly.) You chose to add yourself and how much info you wanted to share. Google is done without consent or notification that it is being done.

I wil make myself a little unpoplur with this comment but I don't see a problem with this as long as it does not intrude WITHIN your property, as whats being see n on google is nothing that you can't see from the street and also a lot less detail. It maybe that here we don't see this as much as a intrusion to privacy as you do? I would be miffed if you could see inside the house/garage or other building on your property/ but thats just my humble opnion :-)

Baby steps Garp baby steps. that is how it is done here thay take little things that people will just say oh well too. then before you know it there is a live action view of your house that can bee seen by anyone. This is the same process that our Govt. would use, is using, to slowly override our rights.
Sorry for the name misspell Garp.

Ohhh looky what we have here.. That is a nice car Garp has, that is a nice house also, I bet I can go break in there get some sweet stuff, then take that car and make some bucks. Thanks google for letting me case out neighbor hoods from the safety of my home. This is why we get bent. I would be miffed if you could see inside the house/garage or other building on your property/ but thats just my humble opnion :-) With street view if your garage happens to be open when they do the shoot, or your windows open. Then yes any one can see in and check out what you have.
