I've been resistant to the idea of getting into religious discussions on these forums, because I've seen them go VERY badly on other forums. However, enough references pop up in our discussions to make me think there might be interest. If desirable, I can make it a limited access area only for those interested and who demonstrate that they can behave themselves.

I like the idea, but think it should be limited to registered users. This way not every fly by can drop a post (bomb) that will rile up the thread, then never come back to discuss it.
Just my opinion.

I personally don't think it would go well judging from other discussions. Religion is much more personal than politics and the political discussions have become pretty heated at times. Just my thoughts.

I personally never get offended by anything with my beliefs, but I noticed that a lot of people get irrationally angry with stuff like that... so limited access would be the best way to go, maybe another class of registered users only? make everyone the class that can see the forum at first, if they get angry over the discussion, just move them to a lower level of registered users

the only problem with limited access is we all know each other so what would we discuss? and some of us have more knowledge than others that just go to church. like bible theory ,apologetics, etc. and when it comes down to the end of the discussion. " i'm only telling you what i've learned. " or "i'm only telling you what it says". is usually the end of the conversation. which is a nice way of saying shut the F#$* up. i've seen pastors and evangelists use these terms." that's what i've learned". hehehehe

I voted for limited access but, I fear that my views may make some people think of me other than that "Moron that makes late night comments because he works 2nd shift and has nothing better to do than to come over here and make an ass of himself playing devils advocate."So if you follow a few rules like - No smiting others after 8 beers, but no less than 2.
- Quote the history channel as often as possible.
- No smiting after 3am....lol
- Apologize with a shrubbery.
- 24hr waiting period for plane tickets.
- No taking it personal, believe what you want...it is America you know! Seriously!!! btw, did Noah take termites with him??...oh crap, I'm gonna burn for that one......
- No smiting while on tequila!!! unless you need to vent...then you can use it for an excuse... ;D then apologize with a shrubbery.
- Lamron will definitly need to add some new smileys... ie the censored and a little shrubbery...lol
- As luck would have it, I've been waiting for a day off when the bank is open to order shirt I've been eyeing....so no smiting other members unless your wearing this shirt....lol

edit - That blond chick with the smiley and Imagine no liberal shirt.....every time I see that picture I REALLY get that smiting feeling....is she available?,,,,LOLOL

Major, I used that Blonde Girl "Imagine No Liberals" shirt image for a time as my Avatar, and Lamron saw it, liked it, plucked it, and photoshopped it to make it worthy of being used on this forums as you have seen it. I can't remember if I posted it here as a separate image or not, maybe in the thread where Lamron was soliciting images to use here (maybe I'll search for that post later). Regardless, I thought the girl was just absolutely dynamite then, and still do. The image came from some Conservative T-shirt selling site. Glad you agree with me, Lamron, and other American males here.
