I think you're right. If its open to too wide a group, it will just be arguments and a big mess. But if its a narrow group of like-minded people, there's not much to discuss.

I'm going to put this idea on hold. If someone wants to, they are welcome to start threads on religous topics and see how it goes, but I'm not going to make a special section for it.
