if it is overheating the power supply could be fluctuating. That would cause all kinds of grief if it becomes unstable. It could manifest itself as graphics issues, CPU or ram.

That's it...I'm going to get United Offensive (CoDv1 expansion) and COD2! Can't be left out! I have found some Mac errors/bugs with the multiplayer, Pvt., for example, the favorites area of the server list doesn't show up added fav servers, so you can't select them and go there, also sometimes the app doesn't find the DVD in the drvie already when you try to launch the game. I hope the v 1.3 patch comes out soon so we can maybe fix some of the problems and go to all of the servers. Yeah I found the same issues, Red.... on Call of Duty 2 for MAC. I notice when you go to a modded server it auto downloads all the mods you need for that server, too. Still learning how to play...! Been away and busy lately! Pvt. Michaels

Bingo, that describes my problem nearly to a tee. I don't think I can replace the fan on the power supply, so I suppose I'll have to replace the whole unit.

Hold that thought, I'm doing some cooling modifications to the server computer and when I'm done I'll report the results and give some ideas for cheap cooling methods.

Ok, holding thoughts.
However, I stand corrected. The fan can be replaced independently of the power supply. My wife's friend happens to have one on hand, and I should have it installed later this week.
But, the cooler the better, so I'm awaiting your results.

Never ask what kind of computer a person uses--if it's a Mac, he'll say; if not, why embarrass him?

I don't know if this is of help or interest in this instance, it's about installing/replacing (I don't understand it all, but there are pictures) a cooling fan in a Mac (? on the graphics board--an ATI Silencer on a G5 Radeon X800): www.macologist.org/showthread.php?t=3010&highlight=cooling
