Did you see ST yet? it is bad, ass!
I realize movies are movies, but can these events actually coincide with the series with what was destroyed? I was just wondering if there might be a point in pre-quills that people might require some sort of mandatory fit in of the current story line as we know them to be...point being a planet that popular? Then again, it is one of those time paradox/alternate universe thingys lol. Just was wondering.
It was still kick ass though! I love time stuff type movies. ;D

Yep it is a time line altering movie.. everything from star trek to star trek Voyager is now out the window because the whole time line has changed.. This opens the door for them too start all over and make new series.
Was a good movie though..
Or they may make a second star trek movie now and show how they fix the time line.. Do not for get the People from Star trek Enterprise the series that monitor the time line and constantly battle too prevent changes and fix it when things go south with the original time line..
We will have too wait and see..

oo yeah, forgot about the temporal cold war thing from enterprise...that would make it make more sense if that was applied. Regardless it was still a good movie, and I don't what people had a problem with Enterprise, I liked it and think it should have kept going..unless they stopped the series because of them starting the work on the movie for some reason. Wish there was a way to find out all the hollywood backstories...it's a conspiracy I tell you lol

Star Trek Enterprise was shut down by the Anti-Hot-Vulcan-Chick-Coalition.
I really liked Captain Archer. None of this "Prime Directive" stuff with him. Surrender or I'll kick your ass, and don't take too long to think about it either!

And don't forget, Admiral Pike in the new movie still has that.....crawfish thing.....in him, so he's still suggestible/controllable by someone? Sequel, maybe, or did I miss something?

Interesting that the time line changed but yet Admiral Pike still ends up in a wheel chair. In the original Star Trek series, they take admiral pike to a forbidden planet were telepathic aliens can make you see and believe anything you wish. He was in a "wheel chair" in that episode but could not speak. Guess he was screwed in both time lines.. LOL

The original Star Trek television show was my absolute favorite. I have both of those VHS tapes and I plan to collect as many as I can. The original television pilot called "The Cage" featured Captain Christopher Pike and his first visit to that planet. "The Menagerie" parts I & II featured the inquest regarding Spock high-jacking the Enterprise for use in helping his Captain Pike get back to that planet. I may also add that this was a highly illogical action for such a Vulcan to do. I haven't watched these episodes in a while but if I recall, Spock actually smiled once in a while in the pilot. Spock was the only remaining character from the original pilot and became the link between the two stories... ...and still I have not gone to see the new Star Trek movie. I will undoubtedly own the DVD when it comes out though. ;D

And Majel Barret played the female officer (? "#1") on the pilot, I believe, and she was the voice for the computer on Enterprise in ALL the series, the only actor to "be" in all the series! (She was Commander Troi's Betazoid mom, too).
All the episodes but The Cage are on-line to be watched, too--my youngest is watching them for the first time after having enjoyed the new movie with me and not knowing what the crap some of the lines/events mentioned were all about (I am and have always been your friend; pointy-eared bastard; fear of teleportation; eating an apple cooly while everyone else is panicking; etc.).
And there was an episode or two in ST:TNG where StarFleet Command was taken over by people with some sort of parasite burrowing into their necks/brains, I think, not just the Wrath of Khan movie (which to me is still the best one!).
Tonight on SciFi channel is another classic ST:TNG episode, too, 9 PM Eastern: "Yesterday's Enterprise An Enterprise from the past breaks through a time rift, altering the course of history; guest Denise Crosby." Another alternate time line event, in which Romulan breeding stock is increased by one little saucy blonde who then in the future comes back to bother Picard and others as a daughter/granddaughter ? of the event.
