I have created a Revocable Living Trust for myself and I'm about to send in the paperwork for a short-barreled AR15. One of the nice things about a RLT is that you can add other people as trustees, such as spouses or other family members. Otherwise if you buy a NFA item and your wife has the combination to the safe, she is a felon and can be sentenced to as much as 10 years in federal prison for having access to the weapon.

HOLY CRAP...now see that's what I was waiting to see. I never would have caught that had you not pointed it out! OK, Now I see what kinda stuff is going on
ummm I do have a question though. Why would you ever have to have a tax stamp and a waiting period for a shoulder stock? That make absolutely no sense at all! That's like saying my wife would have to have a carry permit just because I have a gun or six in the house.

A firearm with a shoulder stock is by legal definition a rifle. A "handgun with a stock" can't exist. But it can't be a "rifle" now either, because "rifles" have a minimum barrel length of 16" AND a minimum overall length of 26". A handgun with an add-on stock falls far short of either of those requirements, so it is now a "short barreled rifle", a firearm regulated by the NFA of 1934.
The way the law was written, adding a shoulder stock to a pistol, making it more accurate and harder to conceal, is exactly the same thing as taking a rifle and cutting down the barrel and stock, making it less accurate and easier to conceal.
The people who wrote these laws knew almost nothing about guns, and stupidly thought that regulating the ownership of items by people who follow these laws would magically prevent crimes being committed by people who don't follow these laws.
That ignorance wasn't limited to 1934, here's Rep. Carolyn McCarthy being asked why something designed to keep you from burning your hand (barrel shroud) should be banned.
People like her are why there are still places in the US where adjustable length stocks are illegal. I guess they want you to buy two rifles, a long one for you and a short one for the wife.
Here's Patricia Eddington talking about rifles that shoot extra-super-evil "heat seeking bullets".

Back to Sons of Guns, here's an interview with one of their fake customers for the "tooth stuck in old revolver" episode. www.natchezdemocrat.com/2011/07/24/playing-with-guns/From what I've read, most of the Discovery reality shows are like this. The truckers, loggers, gold miners, crab fishermen, etc. shows look interesting to average viewers, but to the people actually working those industries they're painful to watch.

I was watching the Sons of Guns tonight and now they hit something that kinda touched a nerve of mine... W hatched the the arrow in the shotgun episode tonight, rerun or not... They acted like this was totally unherd of and totally imposable to do procedure. Well, IDK if you know, but I thought anyone that likes to blow crap up for fun regardless of being a gunsmith or not, knows that this is a common tactic in gorilla warfare. From what I've read, it usually involves just a broomstick with a grenade or something else on the end shoved into a 12 gauge. I also believe I've seen it in an army field manual at some point, don't know for sure though...not going through all my books just to make sure, well, not tonight anyway Now myself being into air cannons, this is pretty much a gimme!!!! I see you point though as an average viewer. It just had to hit something in an area I'm familiar with enough to say... ummm what's the word I'm looking for here... DUUUUUH NOT NEW ...I think it is! HOWEVER, I do still like the show. It might be the Will is a hard ass and should let Chris ask Stephani out thing, haven't decided yet though. just thought I'd throw that in here

I ran across a 2011 version of Charlies Angels. Anyone else seen it? I'm not sure what to think of it yet, but they did kill off one of the Angels in pilot episode which was unexpected.
Only 2 episodes out so far that I've seen.

COOL! I've been waiting to see that again...
Also jumped in to say that American Guns starting now on Discovery Channel. Maybe it's a replacement for Sons of Guns?

The Walking Dead just watched season 2 ep 1 & 2, s02e03 starting now.
I knew I recognized the voice and the squint of eyes, but I had to look him up 'cause I just couldn't pinpoint him. Daryle the crossbow redneck guy. He looks alot older than when he played Scud in Blade II.

He do like that crossbow, don't he?
Oh, and is it just me, or do all the main chicks look extra hot when it's apopcalypse and zombies are out and about?

HAHAHA no your not wrong... apocalypses' seem to bring out the bust women...I mean best women lol Yes he seems to be a good shot with that crossbow, but then again, everyone seems to get a head shot every time they shoot. I realize that's the goal but hey, an every once in a while an "oh crap I missed" would make things more tense. Show is awesome anyway. Waiting for next episode is killing me.
