I'm guessing you reinstalled XP over the existing OS to repair it, instead of a complete drive format. Old registry entries can screw up a reinstall. First, make sure you've got your video drivers up-to-date. And reinstall all Windows updates and Service Packs 1 and 2.
If that doesn't help do this:
First, use your "add/remove programs" function to remove AA, SH, BT. Then follow this exactly:
Click the Start button-> Run Type in "regedit" Double-click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder Open Software folder Open Electronic Arts Open EA Games folder Delete both any entries for Medal of Honor Open the Microsoft folder Open the Windows folder Open the CurrentVersion folder Open the Uninstall folder and delete the following items:
{0DEA94ED-915A-4834-A87E-388D012C8E02} folder for MOH-AA {7914BE1E-F186-4790-B8F4-9F63C52A41C1} folder for MOH-SH {823A68CC-3049-4A6B-8F63-7DC85E4BB1C9} folder for MOH-BT
Close the registry editor
Open My Computer Open the C: drive. Open Program Files Open EA Games Delete MOHAA folder. Close the EA Games folder Open My Computer Open C: Open Program Files From the Menu Bar, select Tools> Folder Options Select the View Tab Check "Show Hidden Files and Folders" Press Apply and OK Open Installshield Installation Information folder and delete these:
{0DEA94ED-915A-4834-A87E-388D012C8E02} folder for AA {7914BE1E-F186-4790-B8F4-9F63C52A41C1} folder for SH {823A68CC-3049-4A6B-8F63-7DC85E4BB1C9} folder for BT
The game is now completely uninstalled.
Now reinstall AA first. Apply the V2.11 patch and then the V2.15 patch. Then reinstall your SH or BT and the correct patches for each of them. Somewhere in the installation you will get the option to install DirectX 9. You DO want that!
That should do it!

I recently had the same problem.... I did a complete drive format, reinstalled everything, updated all drivers, and then installed MOH. All workes perfectly now. I agree that the registry entries are likely the root cause of your issues.

Any time you're reinstalling a OS to fix a problem, you're better off doing a complete reformat first. Otherwise you may not really be fixing the problem and you've wasted six hours installing XP for nothing.
Looking at the errors you got, double check all your video card drivers. The game appears to be having trouble with the video.

Since he's gonna say it anyways, I'll just get it over with... So on behalf of RedRock: GET A MAC!!! ;D ;D ;D I'm not nearly so cruel as that! Garp has a major headache, and I feel for him, truly, and I hope he gets it fixed as soon as possible with as little muss and fuss and expense as possible! (Not, of course, that I've actually ever experienced anything even close to that, in all the 23 years I've been using 9 different Macs and multiple OS releases! The biggest problem I've had in years with the Mac is a stupid little Vietnamese language "legal" file for Adobe CS2 that I can't delete, even though I am through with my trial version of Adobe CS2! )

the splash back to desktop definitely sounds like a driver issue for video...do not use the Windows drivers...download the driversfrom the manufacturer website or if it is an Nvidia based card..from Nvidia.com or an ATI card downlload it from them. The XP drivers in the paks are just a bare minimum driver to get the system to operate. And as said..you should always load XP fresh..not a repair..you will have more grief than before.

All done now. Thanks for your help guys. ;D Thank god I did not have to buy a Mac. Yeah! Whew! Lucky you! That would have been just horrible! Imagine all the extra time--days and days of precious life--that you would have been saddled with had you undertaken all those complex gyrations (buy mac, open box, take out, plug in, turn on, done)! Not to mention missing out on oodles of future pc love-fests (repeat crashes, virus attacks, etc.)! Yessir, you did right! Now, come get some! ;D

Thanks Des, but I did not see 1) Crashes 2) People in the audience shouting "Get a Windows box!" Just the opposite experience when PDW's (public displays of Windows) occur! Apple even has famous commercials when the Windows box does crash and the audience yells out the solution--"Get a Mac!" (you understand now, that I have been quoting that commercial from the get-go???) The video: A camera (made by whom?) wouldn't turn on? It's hard to connect a dead device. Get one that works, hook it up; I did it with my daughter's Olympus digital, worked like a charm--shoot, I never even read the screens' directions, just clicked OK after plugging the thing in, downloaded the pictures so nicely. A game froze at the loading stage? Who hasn't had that happen with every game and every platform? Just use the Mac's force-quit option and try again (the whole system hasn't frozen, just the game). 3 GHz predicted, and only 2.5 delivered? The Macintel boxes run at 2 GHz, "slower" than my non-intel 2.1 GHz, and yet with the optimized Macintel software (which mine cannot run), they run 2 to 3 x faster than mine! So the 0.5 "missing" is just not an issue. And so on. No, that audience of MacUsers were enjoying the rare problems the big-shots were encountering, and they had the full expectation, full expectation I say again, that the problems would be fixed easily and quickly, or that they are not Apple's fault, or that those issues just don't matter. Blind faith on the part of MacUsers, you say? Nope, just past experience, I say!
