Thanks for the article, I shared it with some people to help warn them from upgrading yet.
Maybe they'll fix their screw up since sales dropped 14% See what happens when you take away the start button and classic view!

Microsoft seems to only be able to produce a decent operating system every other attempt. XP = good Vista = bad Win7 = great Win8 not just bad, but bad on purpose! Fire everybody!
Fortunately, Windows 7 is such a good system that it will be many years before there's any reason to change. Of course, I build my computers myself and install whatever I want. I feel sorry for anyone buying a new computer with Win8 already on it.

Your absolutely right, however, If you want to be picky, it's every 2 or 3 win releases.
If you start at 98 leaving out NT
Win 98 good Win 2000 crap Win ME crap Win XP good Win Vista CRAAAAP Win WHS no point for most people Win 7 awesome Win WHS 2011 no point for most people, AGAIN Win 8 sucks very large winkies Waiting for Win whatever to fix Win 8 winkie sucking version
There are also a few media center editions that are pretty pointless as well, it seemed from what I saw of them, they were just machines with video in out cards and came with a multi-memory slot card reader. Probly an attempt to keep people from learning how to upgrade their own machine and keep buying stuff like Dell complete setups, complete with BTX cases that cost an arm and a leg to replace a motherboard in WHEN it died, NOT "IF" it died.
Your right though, and it's what I've been telling people.
What we need is an operating system that didn't rely on just Windows to use the software. A Windows compatible Operating system as it were. I don't mean using Wine in Linux either. If it wasn't for the games relying on Windows, they wouldn't have a pot to piss in. imo

We had a choice to get a washer from Rent A Center, or beat our clothes on a rock down at the river. Since it's still cold out we picked Rent A Center.
My wife said something about her mom got their computer there and I look over and there's 10 machines all with a Windows 8 logo spinning around on the monitors and I said to her I suppose she got stuck with Windows 8 too.
The Manager turned around and told me people were bringing machines back because they want Windows 7 and not the piece of junk software that's on there. He said some of them were VERY PO'd, and he doesn't want to upgrade his machine from XP yet because of it. lolol
I told him he shouldn't have too much longer to wait hopefully before Microsoft releases a fix for their screw up.
