Its hard to add more seating in front of a TV without getting too wide. Nobody wants to sit way off to the side of the picture! So I decided to build a platform and have stadium seating in my living room. Now I have six comfortable seats that are all in prime movie watching position. In progress: Done: Its built with 2"x12" lumber and 3/4" particle board. Width is 84" and depth is 45". It ended up being about 225 lbs, so it won't be moving around on its own! At some point I will add carpet to it, but for now it works great.

Nice that you're so social and entertain enough people to need that! All of you gonna watch the Heat win tonight?

That looks nice!! I thought of doing something very similar to this.... I was going to build a balcony type section, like a two level couch thing, one above the other.... I was quickly frowned upon by my wife and then threatened.
