Battlestar Galactica and Dr. Who restarting shows

I'm too lazy to go look up the old threads, so I'll list this as a new thread.

Dr. Who starts season 2 in the USA on the SciFi channel this Friday, 9/29/06, at 8 P Eastern, and BSG starts season 3 with a 2-hr episode the next Friday 10/6/06 at 9 P Eastern, also on SciFi channel. These shows are at set times, and except for repeats later that night or later in the week, they shouldnt be changing around their times, so set your VCR's/Tivo's/etc. And earlier on that same day (10/6) on SciFi will be a special 1-hr episode recapping the events of the first two seasons, "The Story So Far," at 5 P Eastern.

Check your blooming local TV guides for excact channel #'s and start times--don't depend on me or you might miss out on some light-hearted fun (Dr. Who) or some dark/interesting/intense (BSG) sci-fi.

ALSO, there are 2.5 to 3 min. BSG short episdoes free to watch ("webisodes") on the scifi channel on-line, to whet your appetite for the upcoming season. See www.scifi.com/

They have a full episode you can watch on-line free, too, "Scar" about a Cylon fighter (a living fighter ship) named Scar, and you can watch the final 3 mins or so of the Season 2 finale, all at the same site.

The doctors new assisatnt is an eyeful, dunna if she can replace rose though, we will have to see.
News is that we are gonna see a Pertwee doctor type season of the Doctor stuck on earth?? may work who knows LOL get it Who knows?? oh well...

Right, Garp, I specified "in the USA" in my posting, knowing you're ahead in your eps, but according to the latest website I visited, S3 is only now being filmed, so I'm a bit confused about your S4 comments. And yes, the Spoilers on webpages say S2 is the last season for Rose. I won't miss her, but my daughters will, they like her common, girl next door character. A bit too common for the Doctor, a bit too Tart, if you will, in my opinion. And what the crap is a Pertwee? I don't have any idea what you're talking about, and I'm afraid if I google it I might get too many spoilers to enjoy S2.

Ohh Pertwee is one of the doctors played by John Pertwee, (1970-1974
) most of his BBC season was shot on earth due to budget cuts on the sets, the story line went that the TARDIS damaged so he could not go of world, so hence the pertwee season?

The season pilot was episode: Spearhead from Space 1970. it was also the episode that the new series took the idea from for its pilot episode, where the doctor first meets rose and the store dummies coming to life.

Anyway heres the plot for the classic episode


John Pertwee (Third Doctor)
PLOT:
The TARDIS arrives on Earth in the middle of a meteorite shower and the Doctor is found by UNIT troops and taken to a nearby hospital. The Brigadier is faced with having to cope not only with the mysterious meteorites but also with Ransome, an ex-employee of a local plastics factory, who claims he has seen a walking mannequin.

The meteorites turn out to be hollow globes containing the Nestene consciousness, a disembodied alien intelligence with an affinity for plastic. A Nestene agent, Channing, has infiltrated the plastics factory and is using energy from the globes to animate Autons - mannequin-like figures and realistic replicas of senior establishment figures - with the aim of colonising the Earth.

Aided by newly-recruited UNIT scientist Dr Elizabeth Shaw, the Doctor thwarts this scheme by repelling the Nestene consciousness into space and thereby neutralising the Autons and the monstrous tentacled form that it has been creating for itself in a tank within the factory. Channing, revealed to be no more than a sophisticated Auton, is likewise deactivated.

Episode Endings
The Doctor has been kidnapped from the hospital by two strange men under the instruction of Channing. He manages to escape in a wheelchair, but then abandons it and tries to return to the TARDIS on foot. A UNIT soldier guarding the police box shoots the Doctor as he crashes through the trees.
Ransome returns to the plastics factory and breaks into his old workshop to find it full of new equipment. As he inspects a strange computer-like device, a plastic shop dummy steps down from a plinth behind him and advances.
The Brigadier telephones his regular army contact General Scobie to ask for support in investigating Auto Plastics. Scobie agrees to meet the Brigadier but hangs up as there is a knock at his front door. Scobie opens the door to reveal an exact duplicate of himself, who advances on him.
The Doctor agrees to continue helping the Brigadier in exchange for facilities to repair the TARDIS and a vintage car similar to one that he appropriated from the hospital. The Brigadier goes to prepare the paperwork and asks the Doctor what his name is. 'Smith,' replies the Doctor. 'Doctor John Smith.'
