I've been thinking about getting a Stoeger A30 to play around with at home. How loud is yours? Have you ever shot one of the silenced ones like the Stoeger or Gamo?

Yeah I've been eye the silenced Stoeger www.amazon.com/Stoeger-Suppressor-Spring-Piston-Caliber/dp/B01IDKXC4Y?th=1&psc=1But I need a pistol first, I'm after the Browning 800 express .22 @600fps www.amazon.com/Umarex-Browning-Express-Anti-Recoil-Power/dp/B007BKL81C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1509666906&sr=8-1&keywords=browning%2B800%2Bexpress&th=1&psc=1my marksman 2070 says medium loudness, but the noise coming from it is most all the mechanical. I had my son shoot it and I stood around the corner of the trailer and barley heard it, but I heard the pellet zip through the air, it was pretty cool. The hatsan .22 is a little louder but have not tested that one around the corner, but honestly I think the metal lead catcher I made is louder when it gets hit. Idr if I posted the images of my lead catcher or not, I'll have to look. Now If you want super power, that shoots 1400fps alloy ammo 1200fps lead, the .177 Ruger Air Magnum is a loud mofo and it's classed as medium loudness www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Ruger_Air_Magnum_Combo/2354It sounds like a 22 long rifle actually I just checked pyramid loudness on the 2070 and they classed it as 4-Medium-High...there is no way it is that loud. For neighbor friendlyness/sneakyness I've been sticking with under 1000fps so it's not shooting supersonic. 800fps area seems good for this, but that Stoeger goes 1000fps with .22 alloy and 800fps lead so it will be a good one to test this. Eggs make the coolest targets when hit right lol. The 177's explode them cool, but when I got the 22, I hit an egg with it just right, and the egg just disappeared hahahaha Also keep in mind these are all spring piston airguns I have. The Nitro/gas piston ones need shot every few months or the seals bind to the inside. I'll let you do your own research on that though. My powerline 990 I think it is, is a 10 pump, but I've done a few things to it. For the mechanical of it I've got pipe insulation around the pellet insert/trigger area, and um, a uuumm, a muzzle brake we'll call it on the end lol....all you hear with it is 'click' I think it's 700fps

Here is a shot of the Goto Quick Rack lol Left to right Crossman 2070 .177 , Hatsan Mod 95 .22, Ruger Air Magnum .177 ....if you get the combo packages, they come with scopes. Top is my Crossman 1377 .177 with a few additions. My other multi pump is off to the side out of picture. The multi pumps are less powerful in the 700's range, but I know what they've taken, so 800 & up on the fps is just that much better A closeup of the 1377. Reminds me a little of Boba Fett's gun haha. Has Maglight and laser sight. ...and for anything else that pisses me off and I need to be really quiet... these hang from above... 2 other bows and the cross bow are on other walls. The yellow thing on the quiver is my wrist rocket. - A 'duh me' moment - The scope that came with the Hatsan was stronger than I was used to. It took a couple weeks to figure it out and here is why. When I got it, I started with the iron sites, but when I put the scope on it was all blurry and I couldn't see the target right, I thought my eyes were getting worse. I took it off and on several times and the last time I put it on and tried to use it. I was going to chalk it up to a busted scope, but the last time I took it off I happened to look at the neighbors house and could see the friggen door knob lol I'd been used to scopes that were basically set close in the 50 ft range, not a hundred + . I had to back the focus off alot lol btw, don't put a firearm scope on an airgun, unless the scope is rated for an airun.

Since my early teen years, I've been shooting a Sheridan 5 mm airgun. Pumpup, with peep sight. Very accurate. I like the 5 mm pellets (20 cal.) better than the 22 or 177 pellets. I've killed squirrels with it--pellet goes thru fur, thru body, and almost comes out other fur side. It makes a sharp splatttt type retort when it fires, but sounds like someone slapping a piece of metal, not a 22 firing. I've never tried to silence it or muzzle-brake it. Benjamin I think bought it, and maybe Crossman after that (and the older models have better quality) and now markets it. They have the nickel-plated brass model (Silver Streak) and the blued model (Blue Streak)--I have the Silver Streak model. I usually pump it up 6x, but it can go to 8x. I have never fps'd it. It shoots hard, and hits hard, is all I know. It's a warm wood stock, including the pumping forearm, which I like better than Daisy's or Gamo's plastic. The black plastic piece on the top is movable, and is a place to put your hand for pumping, more comfortable and protects the finish on the gun. You keep it stored with one pump in it, to have some pressure to keep out moisture.
Here's a video, and there are numerous others, about it.
Here's one where the guy uses a scope. It's not very loud, as you can hear.
OOOH, here's one modified by Pyramid (I get their emails about buying their products, but wasn't aware of this).

And I used to have Wrist Rockets when I was young. I shot lead balls my dad poured, or glass marbles. I also had some folded up cardboard boxes, about an inch on a side, IIRC, that I filled with bb's or # 7.5 shotgun pellets, and the box had a design to catch the wind and unfold, letting the bb's/pellets come out, so it was a sort of Wrist Shotgun. Unfortunately, the force of pulling back the load (the box inside the loading area of the slingshot) tended to crush the box and make it not work well after a few shots. Found one of my WR's the other day in a box of old stuff, and the rubber tubings had degenerated with age, were inflexible and cracked. I'm considering getting new tubes, or just buying a new whole unit. But more fun to me, and cheaper to make and use, and even disguise, is an actual sling, not a slingshot. Every play around with those? Just a man's necktie can suffice, or you can make one out of a small leather piece (make a diamond shape big enough to hold whatever you intend to throw) with thin belt, string, leather, rope, etc. pieces attached to the ends of the diamond. A simple underhand flip, or a single swirl overhead, or a multi-swirl above head or beside body and then release one end of the ties (the other tie end is tied to your middle or index finger) and the load comes out hard and fast. I could never get super accurate with it, but I could sure launch rocks out of my sight!!! You know it was a sling with a smooth river rock, and not a slingshot, that David used to sink the rock into Goliath's forehead, right? www.google.com/search?safe=strict&q=how+to+make+a+sling+weapon&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjs5In-77vXAhVMQSYKHevIBJYQ1QIIiQEoBw&biw=1280&bih=824

I've seen a few Sheridan videos, and have seen a few things on .20 pellets but never really gave them much thought, mostly because of uncommon ammo size is only reason. You can barely find decent priced .22 pellets around here in stores.
I was working on a staff sling one time and had to stop to do something else, so I put it up where I wouldn't loose it to finish it....can't find it, lol
I'll take a more serious look at the 20 cal stuff since I'm looking to make some pellet ball molds hopefully next summer, or sooner if I find a tool & die guy that's bored at work
Here is the pellet trap I made this spring. You saw parts of the painted version in the other pics.
I went to the scrapyard and got some I think 1/8" plate, I already had the I beam.
It's made in 2 parts so it's lighter to move. It just sets on bricks.

I just slide this little plate out of the way and all the lead is in there.

Wire makes good egg hangers.

The angle is 90deg only because I only had a piece of angle iron to clamp to, I had nothing at 45deg which would have been better, but I think it'd take a 22 bullet and probly hold up for a long time.
My son and I shot so much the pellets where boring large holes through the store unit shelving I was using as a backstop.
My E1 Pellet Trap "as I call it" works much better
50 cal airgun ferral hog hunting really cool air rifle, but just a liiiiitle outta my price range lol I've seen a few of these guns over 8 grand! Theres some small bear hunting videos too.

Lamron, I've been doing some wishing that will never happen due to price range cap for me but maybe not you lol In researching a custom pcp conversion for my 1377, I found the cheapest pcp big bore I've seen. The Airforce Texan shoots 45 cal at 1000fps! After seeing what .22 break barrel did to the water melon, I'm willing to bet this would satisfyingly explode it Also comes in 7.62 and 9mm Here: www.pyramydair.com/s/m/AirForce_Texan_Big_Bore_Air_Rifle/3575/6923I thought I saw a combo kit that you can get a pump with it someplace as well.

I went to Pyramid air a few days back and had the silenced Stoeger and a couple pistols in my cart.
I wish I could report to you on how quiet the Stoeger is, but instead of leaving the site with the 3 I had picked out, I ended up finding a very nice looking HPA PCP rifle in my price range along with another 1200 rnds of .22 ammo
I was headed down this road anyway so I just jumped right in. www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Diana_Stormrider_Multi_shot_PCP_Air_Rifle_and_HPA_Pump_Kit/4500/8772 900FPS with lead and I think 1000FPS with pbA so it's still under the supersonic range cuttoff of 1100fps so should still be backyard friendly.
After filling it, I should get about 30 shots @2900psi with .22 before refilling. but looking at a hose and external tank to add a hundred or so more shots haha.
Since this comes with a stirrup pump that will go to 4500psi, I'll be able to use it with future pcp guns and not have to buy another pump which is good since they are ungodly expensive.
Also has 7rnd removable mag so you can single shot as well.
Those slowpokes waited a day before shipping it, so it made it all the way to 30 minutes from here Friday night, but won't see it till tomorrow.
I've got this little tiny scope coming to put on it lolol.Bipod & sling studs coming too.www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01E4YVCOA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005KW4WIE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Ok, started getting parts for my first real custom build.
Got a Crosman 2240 a couple weeks ago...just shot it tonight and I gotta say for outta the box @ 460fps in .22... NEVER have I ever hit anything with iron sights on the first shot lol

Now, what I'm going to do is add this 13ci tank and 24" barrel with a shoulder stock.

This will change it from a CO2 pistol @460fps to an Adjustable PCP pump up to 3200psi, I'm guessing 1000fps with lead? If I figured it right anyway. What I need yet accorrding to Bill @ Magnumair isHello Ed,
My suggestion would be to use the custom 15.5" Discovery tube I have listed with a magnum valve (Marauder stem bypass version) and a fill adapter with a 4000 PSI gauge and 5K burst disk. Then you need a 22XX Magnum power adjuster and Magnum Hammer Spring. This setup will allow you to use any pressure you want up to 3200 PSI. It will produce more power than any airgun of the same caliber and barrel length. It can also be adjusted to lower power levels for whatever type of specialized performance you want. At full power with a .045 hammer spring it will produce 50-55 FPE with a 24" .22 barrel. That's for maybe 8 shots. At lower power it can produce up to 35 strong shots. The .042 and .038 springs are for lower power levels or operating at lower pressures. I would suggest the .042 spring for 2000-2600 PSI. The .038 for CO2 if you decided to try bulk-filling the tube instead. Benjermin Disco tube is here if you want to see it onlinestore.magnumairpower.com/products/custom-discovery-tube-15-inch
But still need the new hammer spring and power adjuster, maybe a new anodized chrome purple breech lol idk....drool gonna be awhile before funds come in for next shipment of parts, but I hope to make it like this, I'm just bypassing the the CO2 fill adapter and making it better._
